If they wanted that toon chest to work with toy colors, should have colored it silver rather than dull grey

 

Man this is frustrating. I like different aspects of each set but neither 100%. I have Bruticon pre-ordered and i've already bought the separate Armageddon head to go with it but I like the colors of Onslaught and Brawl better on the Armageddon version. The only thing that's stopping me from switching my PO around is Armageddon doesn't have feet that match his legs (I know they shouldn't match BTW) and the chest piece has fairly bland coloring and isn't the correct chest piece anyway.

So I guess my ideal Bruticus would be basically Bruticon but swapped out with Armageddon's Onslaught and Brawl with a matching foot. But I can't have that...   

 

Unfortunately one part would then end up unpainted, while the rest is painted.  

 

I mean the entire thing. The whole combiner. Offer stands for anyone interested. Unfortunately I'm not aware of a V1 with a toy accurate chest that IS painted.

Also, mixing and matching unpainted limbs with the painted body isn't a big deal... I did it with the Superitron body with the Kronos 'bots (I used the Superitron bots as the individual botmodes) and it looks great

 

I owned the V1 version, but sold it and got the toon accurate color scheme. I prefer the toy chest and head, it has more going on.  

 

I'm happy with the new release keeping the original head sculpt. The toon accurate head is a bit too small for me and doesn't look as Imposing.

 

When are we expecting this new Toon version to actually release? TFS-Express had it down for this month

 

Show.Z always spoke of a Q1 2022 release, ever since it went up for preorder. Personally I am not expecting him to be released until March.

 

Anyone able to tell me what kind/ brand of red they are using to paint the combiner head's eyes?

 

I used Mr Hobby Red, and cut it with floor polish to get it to self level so there's no brush strokes visible at all.

Now I've got an airbrush I'd probably try it that way first now, though.

That said, it could be the polish that brightens it up? If so, I'd say go for Italian Red instead. I don't personally think a metallic will suit, although I have OG Bruticon so perhaps a metallic would suit the metallic versions?

Not really sure what this pic is detailing but did anyone ever figure out a trick to fix Swindle knee connection from the first run?

 

From what I remember people were telling me I'd have to change the springs on the knee assembly. I tried doing it but one of the springs require you to heat up the plastic so you can remove them. Not sure that's something I want to do myself.

 

Wow, no way I would ever attempt that repair. I'm surprised no one came up with a 3D bracket or filler. Heating up plastic- hard pass.

 

The Bruticon version fixed the knee issue. All that is needed to fix it is a heavier spring in the knee joint on the pantsuit. It’s a very easy fix.

 

Anyone know the release date for the updated chest Bruticon? ShowZ just says first quarter. Trying to decide when to pay this off.

What's everyone's opinion on this figure? I believe that I saw that Vortex blows up for no reason sometimes? I've also seen that the leg untabs easily although this was somewhat improved on later runs. Is that right?

I have $20 down at SZS to lock in the $400 price but I'm not 100% sold. Pretty sure I'm gunna pass actually. Am I making a mistake?

I want a solid figure. If this dude is a PITA to manipulate in combined mode then I'd rather skip this and wait for another option in 2035 or whatever.

 

From what I've seen, their Superion is the superior (heh) figure. I have the black one on pre-order, which should come out hopefully in April.

I don't think there's a better Bruticus, however, even with its flaws.
