So what do people generally do to deal with Brawl's treads?

 

Good question. For $330 it's still a very good deal for a MP scaled combiner but I'm afraid I might end up disappointed comparing him to Superion. I'll probably wait and see how the Xtb Menasor turns out as an alternative.

In all honesty, I'd sell these if they did Ruination.

 

I pulled off (I think it was 13) links and it connects perfectly for bot and combined mode...

For alt mode (that I only did twice) I snapped the set of 13 back on... way too fiddly trying to get them all shoved into where they’re “supposed” to go and since he displays combined there just isn’t any point in the added frustration for me.

 

Sounds to me like they fucked it.

 

Okay so Brawl was the cheapest so I just got him too. The wait continues.

 

So my Blastoff arrived today and a piece broke on the first transformation, but that's probably my fault, but other than that I do really like him. Hooooooooooooooowever the more I look at him the more I feel an overwhelming urge to paint him white and orange and get an FH Archenemy to go with him. These guys would make amazing RID Decepticon Commandos.

 

I'm torn on this. I waited for the LE Metallic addition box set for Constructor. Beautiful set with ALL the extra's and multiple parts with different colors. But..... it was plagued with just as many QC issues, if not more, then VERSION 1 TFC Hercules, which was soooooo bad and quickly updated to V2 that not many people knew.

I fixed everything after spending the entire weekend on it. Only bot without issues was Burden. I'm a modder and can fix just about any toy (including joints), but I don't like having too.

Now we have a Zeta Brutics Box Set...
I really want the box set, but personally I hate the toon colors. Non of my bruitici collection are toon color... I'd like to keep the colors the same to line them up in short of an evolution display.

Plus... really, come on, how often as a kid did you guys really get to see Bruticus on screen?!?!?! I fondly remember him due to the toys forever presence or from just staring at the toy catalogs. Don't understand all the hate for the Toy deco. Hell, even "some"of the comics use it, so it's still canon. But to each their own.  

But anyways, I want the Toy color, but hate tons of boxes. I also fear that the box set will come with extras or QC fixes that the Toy deco version doesn't. Not sure what to do... I guess wait for a review.

If there are no apparent extras or fixes, then I'd like to trade my complete toon deco set with someone that has the toy deco set. (but I'd really would want to keep the actual gift box).

Soooooooooooooo Brawl arrived today and I really like him, more than Blastoff, which is odd since Brawl is generally my least favourite Combaticon. But part of my enjoyment might be that I excepted him to be a lot worse and the treads have not been nearly the nightmare I was expecting, they've given me almost zero trouble so far. Knock on wood.

 

Just to be clear, this is a custom and not the toon version, right?

 

It's an upgrade kit that lets you use UT's limbs with Zeta's Onslaught.

 

No wonder I could not match it to the revealed toon version.
