Thanking my lucky stars this doesnt do it for me so I dont have to buy a second one.
Nothing wrong with this guy astectically (or price wise), but if it isn't equal or larger than the new official Unicron, no can do. This sum bitch needs to be BIG!!! Like personal coffee table to display big.
This one seems more of a replacement for the now dated Armada Unicron.
I like the darker orange on this new one, but I still wish they'd made the chest panels light gray/white. Neither version matches what I want for color. Kinda glad he's a little off so I don't have to buy another one. Though if they ever make a 6 or 8 inch version of him, I'll have to buy another.
If it's around $200-$250 then I'm interested.
Sadly I think there's only one scale of unicron that fits well with my masterpiece collection. Luckily I already have one and love it. Doesn;t make me keep thinking about putting my money in on this one still but it helps....
Love the Studio Oz one to death!
Studio Oz- Unicron
Oh hell yeah!
Surprised the new version doesn't come with a shaved face.
The orange looks good. The grey looks s**t. Im happy with Haslab Unicron. This thing is no fun to transform according to certain reviewers.
That is honestly fair. This mold requires A LOT of patience to transform and safe hands lest you bend or warp some plastic, and coloring issues can really make or break some figures (I look to how many people were afraid of ER Prime having Grey hands). I feel people mostly get the figure for the engineering since while others like the sheer size and presence of HasLab, some people are ABSOLUTELY turned off by the back and leg kibble of it (along with the shellforming being some issues for some, but then again, I liked Big Convoy regardless and he's one of the quintessential shellformers) to the point they'll take this over it (Of course, I bought neither so I have no in-hand experience and with this unholy aftermarket, this is the only Option left outside paying tuition fees, most likely)
More power to you to liking it, and honestly I would wanna get it in those in-hand shots before I can say anything more.
Even tho I like the blue one better, this is still 100 better than the Haslab version
even now after all this time. folks are still taking digs at the haslab uni...lol
i think this new deco looks like shit. but this isnt the bot for me either way. but i would jump on that fake upsize in a heart beat.
For those wondering...
Price is 260 gbp with Omegalock.
Edit: 237 USD from TFS-Express China.
That should give you all an idea on price.
Also, release date is next month!
@Black Convoy you can update the front page story.
Looks like shipping to North America is around $100 on TFS Express. ...So, make that at least $330 total.
Yeah, that's what I thought. TFS-Express always list the base price, which is usually quite close to the Chinese price, so it's a good yardstick of how hiked the price is before factoring in international shipping etc.
A quick work backwards for exchange rate and added vat, puts the uk price in that same ballpark. So right now the $320 that Cell was going for for so long looks to be around about the starting price for Pumpkin (and if there’s no Halloween reissue in October then they've missed a trick!)
Yeah, this head is probably as good as it gets as far as scale for MP, and even then would look best if displayed in the background to create distance (maybe Unicron's eye would be okay as the size of a playset). A scale model would be the size of the Gundam being built in Japan!
I fully agree and yes, I could only imagine the size of the Unicron this size! One can only dream.....
This one can move:
It's great that I didn't buy the original version!
Just shows how totally subjective this is. I find Cell's head-sculpt perfect, and I much prefer him to the Haslab figure in terms of size, cleaner sculpt/aesthetics, and non-shellformer design.
But I'm just glad both options are available, so that everyone can choose the one they prefer (or afford, haha)!
Haslab's head pales in comparison imo. Blank facial expression (and not in an intimidating way but more of a waiting-at-the-doctor's-office way), dead eyes, derpy muppet-like mouth whenever it is not fully closed. Not at all befitting the chaos bringer.
