    WING SPIKES UPDATE:

I've updated my original post to reflect the amount still available, and made changes to the payment plan. The only thing I changed was that I'll send out payment requests once the majority of Wing Spikes are spoken for, as opposed to immediately, and to discuss other options for payment arrangements.

    Thank you.

Honestly, if you straighten that first joint at the shoulder, the bigger wings actually look pretty darn good. The only issues are the increased weight and the 4 straight tips at the ends. Really wish they added a couple more joints to allow for a smoother curve.

Yours is merry Christmas version? My first version side shoulder dish will come down due to heavy weight of bugger ring.

One of the guys on this board used an acrylic tube with a hole drilled through to hold up the planet mode.

I liked it and made some modifications to the idea.

I cut a circular section out as well as a slot at the top of the tube.

I like the way it disappears now.

Nice! I was thinking about doing that but wasn't sure how sturdy it would be... And... I just didn't feel like it, lol.

Any issues with flexing or sturdiness?

I was worried about flexing too, but no it doesn't it just settles in.

    I used a 4 inch diameter x 8 inch tall tube.

I left 1 inch of tube at the top and below the cutout.

    That looks REALLY good man.
I can't decide if I want to try and hang him, or do the tube.
I DIG the cutout, but not sure I have the dexterity do pull it off.

Did you use a jigsaw or rotary tool? How difficult was it?

Hey @SquishyOH, did you get your Studio Cell yet? Mine has a similar story to yours: first started moving on March 10th, left China on March 23rd, then was completely silent until April 15th when it landed in New York. Mine has been stuck in the "processed through ISC facility" stage since then; a quick Internet search tells me that items can be stuck here for pretty much any amount of time, from a few days to a few weeks (or longer). It's been 11 days now, so I'm getting a little antsy (since it's a pretty high-cost item). I was just curious to compare my Cell's travel history to yours.

Mine's only a couple days away now (45 days total so far).

I'm not used to not seeing updates for weeks at a time. I just hope it gets here in good shape.

You can rest them against the legs like I do in order to mitigate that sag.

Yeah, on smaller items from ShowZ I usually just pay the $4 or whatever to get the faster shipping with status updates; that cuts the savings compared to buying from a U.S. store, but it also cuts the wear-and-tear on my nerves, you know? Not freaking out for multiple weeks is definitely worth $4 to me. On this guy, the desire for a bargain overrode my better judgement, so now I'm here.

I mostly just hope they don't open up the actual box with the toy to inspect it. If they do, I'm not convinced I'd receive it in complete and pristine condition.

If you're like me, then you ordered before Chinese New Year but somehow didn't get shipped in time. So they say the clock starts at March 8 when they turned it over for shipping, but really I say the clock starts on Feb 8 and they couldn't get the logistics figured out in time before CNY. And then took a good couple weeks after vacation before tackling one of these bigger boxes.
    STUDIO CELL TRACKING.jpg

So they say 3/8 to 4/16 for shipping. That's 39 days. But ordering it back on Feb 8 it feels more like 67 days.

And I'm still working on getting Unicron unpacked and set-up. So much work and then company showed up last weekend so the dining room table "had" to be cleared. But soon I'll carve out the time to get him fully fixed up.

Thank you for sharing that tracking history, bud! Yeah, I ordered mine on Feb 4th and got the shipping notification on March 2nd. It's been a little bit of time!

I see that yours was at ISC for 3 days. Like I said, mine has been there for over 10 days without movement. Ah well, I guess there's no real rule of thumb for how long something will be there, and it's all just luck and chance.

I'm glad to see that you ordering yours 4 days earlier actually got shipped before mine. I'd hate to think ShowZ just takes the newest order off the top of the pile for shipping that day.

But, dang, I've had mine for nearly 10 days. What on earth is ISC doing to your Unicron? It also seems like my boat must have passed your boat on the way to East Coast if you had a 6 day head start yet but still trapped in customs. Did your shipment get stuck in the Suez Canal for a week? I guess being shipped first doesn't always mean you'll get your toy first with the SAL method.

I used a dremel with a small saw blade. It was pretty easy. Took me like 5 minutes to cut.

I taped up the tube and drew center lines with carpenter square on the tape with a sharpie.
I manually cut the center gap eyeing it off the center line.
I drew the circle by hand though. It's actually an elipse. 6 inches in height (3 off the center) and 8 inches wide (4 off the center).
I started with a 6 inch circle but I wanted it a bit further around the base so made it an ellipse. You can draw it out on paper and trace it on the tape.

This is the tube I used btw.
