the head pops off pretty easily, so if you can just slide the head out of the front hole. If you can't, going the have to take apart quite a lot of panels just to open it up.

What gaps are those? (Sincere question. I can't see any access to the pin other than the very top.)

There’s open areas around the pins at the top of the panels, but idk how anyone has used those to push them out. All you end up doing is scraping and scratching the pin which refuses to budge. I honestly hate that these are pinned. Should have just been one of those frictioned in methods that others use for parts they don’t want to break. Could have just popped them off but no, remove extremely tight pins.....

Agreed completely. These are the least user-friendly swappable parts ever. Considering how simply the arm panels, wings, and collar -- not to mention the HEAD! -- can all be removed, it's baffling they'd make the shoulders so difficult.

I wonder if they weren't originally intended to be removable, and including alternate-colour parts was a last-minute afterthought.

Oh duh. I don't know where my brain's at; can't believe I forgot you can just pull the head off if you want lol. Then again, I've been dealing with and fixing breakages on this figure pretty much since Day 1 so that might explain why ripping his head off never crossed my mind XD

Around the internet, I’ve seen some critiques that Cell here isn’t big enough to accurately be compared to Masterpiece figures, which got me thinking. A transforming 01 Studio Cell figure the size of a mannequin. It’d be a heck of a job, but if 01 Studio can pull this beauty off, it’s at least got some potential for a future project

It'll never be in scale with MP figures. However, it's the same size as the combiners made by the same company.

It needs to be bigger than them. And the 3P Omega Supreme options. And ideally the only tall Citybots we have.

Unicron should be the tallest bot in a collection, because, well, he's a freaking planet!

Now, if you then decide you want FT's 40" Fort Max, then you're in trouble whatever...

    Even worse then.

Don't get me wrong, it's a great looking figure, and nobody's asking for a 5' or 6' tall Unicron (except the the FT Fort Max folks perhaps!), but I'd be all over an OSKO of this. Make him 25+ inches tall, preferably 27-30, and it'd be perfect for bot mode next to HasLab Unicron in planet mode

Hence the idea of a Transforming Unicron figure the size of a 6 foot Mannequin

Waaay bigger than what I was imagining, but noice. However at least it would be like $2000 considering how expensive Masterpiece figures are. It also sounds like an absolute pain to Transform. I view the current Cell as a “play with it, stop motion” figure, Mannequin size would be for the old fashioned G1 toys, rarely transforming, and this 27-30 Idea sounds like a “One form only” display in an occupated space far away from the house(the amount of space it would occupie would be roughly the same size as a horse arena)

27-30 inches? That's half the size of your 6 foot mannequin.

I'm saying that, in the context of people saying that Unicron "will never be in scale", nobody's asking for one at even 5 to 6 feet tall, here, just for him to be their biggest bot. A couple of extra inches tall and it's increases width and overall size too, making it look loads bigger. Stick 8+ inches on his height and he's gonna dwarf MP combiners and Metroplex/Fort Max (unless you grab the FT one).

Oh, whoops. Mistook what you said for 27-30 Feet, not inches. You’re free to laugh if you wish

    There's a YouTube video detailing how it's done, although I don't have a link...

I’m pretty sure I’ve seen it and really it doesn’t explain much other than either push the pins out by carving out a hole, or pray that the pins are loose and can be scrapped out of there. Either way, tutorial or not, it’s a pain in the ass.

Does anyone have a picture of the planet mode without the robot head in the mouth? Since the head can come off without breakage, I’m thinking of taking the head off instead of wrapping the horns around the face to give Unicron room to eat things in planet mode

Was messing around with other figures and thought I'd get a group shot.

Still think connecting that ring is a scary challenge but worth the final outcome!
