Yup. Gone are those days... Nowadays it's "let's see how many times we can poke a bear. Let's see what happens when we poke it's eye! Let's sit in it's mouth and poke it's tongue!" I'm sure if Zeta had waited until AFTER the crowdfunding, Hasbro wouldn't have cared. Hasbro was really put in a tough spot. A lot of people were tagging Hasbro's official social media with Zeta's posts and making it impossible for Hasbro to ignore. I'm surprised and thankful that it was so restrained. Hopefully this time next year I'll have TWO versions of Unicron!

 

I'm surprised it didn't happen back when Fanstoys dropped their Hoodlum right as mp-28(i think that's hotrod).

 

So I wonder if we're going to pay for the first kit first and the second after or all at once? I ordered from Toy Dojo but they hadn't said anything about it yet either way. No biggie as I didn't think this thing was coming this fast but curious how it'll unfold.

 

I've been wondering the same thing. Not only in terms of payment, but also shipping. Are retailers going to ship the head/wings separately or hold them and send the whole thing together?

 

Why is everyone going on about the head and wings being separate? it will all ship together according to my showz preorder.

 

showz is the only store to make it clear that they are shipping together. Other retailers have not made it clear and some were even trying to sell the head separately. To add to that, the head is apparently in a separate box and is being shipped to retailers earlier than the body.

 

It's cause we've seen packaging of the head and wings alone, and heard that it's shipping out before the main body. Seems like showz will just be waiting and shipping it together, but other places haven't been clear.

I just heard from people who have direct access to wholesalers, seems that 1Studio just listed the head/wings kit as "1Studio Cell-Small Box" available June/July and recommend orders to match "1Studio Cell" orders (with their own price & shipping listed). It's up to the retailer to order. Seems 1st studio is selling each separately, but retailers are selling them as a set. Explains a lot of the price jumps.

 

This must be so confusing for retailers.

01Studio to retailers: "By the way, the figures you ordered from us aren't the complete figure; you need to order the head & wings separately; here's the additional cost; hope this doesn't screw up all the pre-orders you already have; K thanks bye."

I would think this would make pre-orders doubly important. At least if someone pre-orders, the retailer can make it explicit that the two items should come together. When they go up for general sale some retailers will undoubtedly list the body and head separately.
I guess the bonus is for people who wanted an extra head to customize or use with their Primus/Cybertron dioramas.

 

Or people who want a shrunken head for their Haslab Unicron.  

 

That will be funny to see. Or haslab head on zetacron
