It's a MP quality figure with a premium paint job, all original engineering and extensive LEDs. The price seems really reasonable when you take all of that into account.

 

GODS, $150, I've thinking about the cost of things, and I'd say MP-44 (base figure) is $150, but now I havr to rethink this. I think Capone is worth around $130 at for the figure alone, with the skeleton being atleast $150, or $280 combined, so around Phoenix, who I think is perfect at around $250. Hmmm, maybe MP-45/46 aren't worth even $60, hmmmmmmmm...

 

Granted and the engineering and paint job are appreciated but the LEDs are a waste, serving only to increase the cost. Still, I'm keeping my preorder for now and I'll see how TC looks in the future. If this figure comes out before TC has had a chance to steal me away, then I guess I'll have this one. If TC is affordable enough and reviews well (new company so I'm not going to bet on their quality until reviews come out) I'll have it too, even though I don't really need two Bumblebees. If TC is priced similarly to this guy, though, I'll stick with just one of them.

 

Personally, I'm in 3party TF because of the designs and cheap prices. I can afford expensive figures if they really worth it but I don't want that every 3rd party figure increases the price because of the leds and extra accesories (like the hammer, that don't even appear on the movie). Jazz Takara has the Brand, is an official product with original emblems, names, etc... that's important for a lot of collectors. If 3rd companies starts to put prices similar of Takara... will we consider to buy breakable figures at 400$? Me not.
In my personal opinion, this Bee is not for every one, because is not price-friendly and for that price there're better figures like BA Prime.
The only Zeta I still having is Cosmos, and the paintjob is a totally ruin, full of scratches on legs, face and head. The same happened on Seaspray, for that reason I want to sell the Zeta figures. This Bee... 17cm at 104$ is a totally NO for me and for many people.

It's only recently that 3rd party has had cheap prices compared to official figures though. At least for MP. And that's because Takara has hiked their prices.

4th party is somewhere you can save a shedload of money and get mountains of plastic for your coin, but not necessarily 3rd party.

I'm not justifying Takara's astronomical prices, even if the paint and parts count has taken a big jump forward, it doesn't mean the product matches the price. But we can't expect the 3rd party companies to stand still either and we're seeing leaps there too in many cases. I still feel like as long as there are alternative options within 3rd party itself, there will be representative figures for most.

 

Although I agree this Bee's price is not the smallest one we must remember that BA Prime, no matter how impressive and improved, is still a KO and we wouldn't have him if not for HasTak's effort while 3rd parties like Zeta come with completely new designs.

Sigh... all things considered if this trend of hiking prices amongst 3rd and 4th parties continues

just saying, when you look at stuff like fanstoys where their larger 10" figures are $160-170, a foot tall prime isn't bad at that price, especially with how much is included.
