What's the price? That's the question. It looks like it has less kibble
Interesting. I see some planet shell in the legs; curious how this all compresses.
I will say though that the Hasbro one feels like it's far more on point as far as proportions go.
19 inches? Lame.
Oh also that's translation...pfft hahaha.
"Recommended retail price $1500"
Are they crazy?
Or an incompetent adult. There are lots of those. Especially in management
From the linked source: ZT originally intended to reveal it on 1st Sep, but brought it forward due to "change in circumstances".
This will be produced in Dec 2019 and costs 1,500 yuan (US$210).
Click the transfans post translation and it says "recommended retail price $1500"
dam, if its in the 200's then I'm in for both, even with my problems with it.
no dollar sign in the translation.
So that means they wanted to show it after the end of Haslab campaign, can't/don't want to wait until October. As I expected they are positioning themselves as the cheaper/more practical alternative and I think that's the right decision, even if it still feels strange to think that they are making Unicron smaller than the combiners. If it's around $200 in China, shall we expect $300 from international retailers?
Sorry just it's funny and sadly has no currency name or mark next to it so it was hilarious.
This looks miles better than Hastak's version but unfortunately it's just too small - Being smaller than their own combiner means it doesn't fit anywhere in my collection.
That said, I don't think this is too small rather MP as a line is too big. I would love 18" to be the biggest piece in my collection but as it stands, MP is what I collect and this wouldn't work with that..
it looks amazing though, well done Zeta
I hope it's not just the Chinese price, cause at that point I ain't paying 300 for an 18" figure.
Some interesting engineering but I gotta imagine that difference in 10 inches is a significant one in terms of weight and transformability. There’s a reason Hasbro’s is designed to allow him to stay on the stand.
18" is too small. Kind of a shame, I was hoping this would be a viable alternative for those unable to get the Haslab release. They really should have gone with 24" at the very least.
Can someone please lighten the pictures, so we maybe can see more details? Thanks a lot!
I like it, a lot...mouth looks off, but that is probably due to it opening and closing, hopefully colours will bring it together.
I think the size might be due to transformation - any bigger and then you might have to have ve the planet shell hanging off as kibble?
Don’t forget shipping box size/cost.
And how unwieldy anything bigger would be to work with without say a stand.
But yeah I can’t see a lot of overseas retailers wanting to stock something any bigger, either. Warehouse space IS a thing as are shipping costs.
No matter how amazing the figure is, I'm not buying it unless it comes with Galvatron!
Okay, I'm impressed; that actually looks good. Comparing it to the Haslab version, I prefer Zeta's bot mode (a lot; I like the sculpt and proportions much better), while Hasbro's planet mode is obviously cleaner and cooler, especially with the geared mouth-opening feature.
Overall, though, I'm way more impressed by Zeta's, because it looks like the planet actually turns into the robot. Many of the bot mode surfaces seem to be actual planet parts (arms, shoulders, back, and even the skirts!). That is a big step up from Hasbro's 100%-shellformer design, where the entire planet shell just becomes heaps of ugly kibble panels that might as well be removable, since they're not actually part of the robot at all.
As for the scale... obviously a Unicron figure was never going to be "in scale" with anything else. I don't care about the exact size, as long as he's large and imposing.
Basically, this Zeta figure looks like much more of a true transformer to me, and I'll take it over Hasbro's easily, especially for 1/3 of the price.
Think it looks great and cleans up way better than the HasLab but at 18" that's a bummer IMHO.
Separate names with a comma.
