Now that is an awesome looking deco. If that were the official colors I would buy in a heartbeat!
In the hastak interview, I think the designer said he wanted to emulate the movie so that's why the legs are like that.
Zeta's legs come out the side and the robot takes up the whole of the planet inside the shell. Hastak's version seems to have extra space inside the shell.
For hastaks kibble on the legs, they could probably hide it inside the legs with maybe some pieces outside. Not too late Hasbro!
How are you so amazing? You contribute more to the board than any of us have any right to expect.
OS this to 24" with bigger wings, and I'd bite at $450.
This is exactly how I would want this figure to be painted, bravo!
I can understand why they would be gunshot about producing this figure at that scale. As well done as this figure is it just wont be a widely accepted as an official product to be justified. That being said I would be 100% in to pay that amount for a version of this at that scale.
I just pre-ordered from ShowZ. Sometimes if a figure is hot, pre-order first, think about it later. You can always cancel the pre-order
I do really wonder when Hasbro will just come to their senses and hire the 3rd party designers...
Although I have heard of them working for both ... hmmm.
Wait... but that could mean that...is Haslab playing both sides?!!
Why not there's crazier things.
I have a feeling Zeta is going to put this thing through rigorous testing to make sure before release it's just about as perfect as perfect can be. I don't know why but I believe this particular project is going to be up there as one of their best. in terms of both design, and engineering, and and idk. it just feels like they worked insanely hard on this one to me. All the little nuances to the 86' movie for instance. the way it all folds together, literally almost everything ratchets. as anything with this amount of complexity should.
This may just be their most successful toy they've ever made. They are pouring every bit of what they know into it it feels like. Their passion and enthusiasm just makes me want to be as passionate to become a fan and supporter of their stuff, even if I don't much care for any of their past products. It's turning me into a believer. heh.
And some mold changes as well would be nice, like a hangar in planet mode to accommodate Galvatron's starship.
They'd need to fix the planet mouth as well. This one's is passable, but Hastak's really is better.
What does anybody think, will this come in and derail Unicron (as it may be doing), and then go on to be one of those teased protos that never see release (there have been a few over the years including someone's ?beast wars? Unicron).
Don't get me wrong- if this is what gets release, I'll buy it. But I like Hasbro's better for both the size and planet detail and I'm concerned this is at risk of making that not happen.
It would definitely be funny if that happened for those few who hate the hasbro one with a passion (for some reason). BUT, as funny as that would be, I'd rather both get made and everyone gets to choose their unicron.
I agree. Both would be ideal.
And now you have designed the reprolabels set!
I prefer the simpler look myself but it does look good with the extra details.
Oh nice @Cheebs. I like that quite a bit. And I also feel it compensates for the lack of sculpted detail.
Finally got to watch the video, it looks awesome in both modes but getting there seems like a former badcube employee got hired, just cracked their knuckles and said "you think what i did at badcube was hard to transform? You ain't seen shit yet. Buckle up buttercup."
I think once the final product is done, transformation will go a lot more fluently.
I'd be in on this but it's just to small for my collection.
