Thanks. That is actually pretty interesting and informative. Can't say the concept translates too well to figure form, but it's interesting to know that the designers didn't just stop half way, as many have joked.
Interesting I didnt know this, all this time I thought it was just some designers choice trying to do something different. Makes sense since most of the TW/Zeta designs are Studio OX and toy inspired.
mine arrived today, and I'm quite disappointed. the right hip transformation joint is loose(so trying to move her leg results in her dislocating it), and her abdominal joint is loose enough to make her entire upper body flop around. had it been the toyworld version it would've been an easy fix: unscrew, apply nail polish, reassemble. zeta however decided to pre-apply the screw hole covers, which means having to damage the figure first(not even a needle is thin enough) before I can even start the disassembly. and some issues from the toyworld version carried over: Mickey mouse gloves(made worse by being the only white part in sight) falling swords. mandatory parts-in-box-forming(keeping the accessory holding hands attached won't work, either the hands or the shoulders will lift the wheels off the ground) and hands that pop out when turned, or just lightly touched. it's not all bad though. the face looks good. the metallic paint looks good. the gun color makes a bit more sense(no pink handles) and unlike TW's version, her paint matches(I don't know how it is in-hand, but photos make it look like leia's white paint is slightly yellowed everywhere except on her lower legs) still, I'm going to contact the shop as the loose joints are a real issue.
the looseness is just one of those things that can happen with any figure, and is usually random. not being able to fix it is on zeta toys, the same issue would've been an easy fix on toyworld's version.
I was thinking about picking this up just for the face-sculpt to be added to my TW version, but yikes. She looks a lot less masculine with this sculpt, but she also looks like she gained a few chromosomes.
I haven't looked at this figure since I installed a pair of hands (one required shaving the peg a bit to get it to fit) and sticking it in a cabinet, but I'm allowing myself to increasingly dislike it because of those stupid soft hands. What a silly design decision to not make them of normal hard material. Some come with fingers bent odd ways from how they were squished during shipping.
Received Zeta Arc, and the new face looks better in person than from the pic. (Originally I want to replace it using the POTP Elita-1's head, now I don't need to do this.) The paint is great, transformation is easy, and very pose-able. The car mode's back half is disappointing, but I can fool myself it's sticking to the source material.... Update: maybe I still need to think how to use Elita's head...
