I think Zeta's isn't fully done being painted and this might be a current update to keep everyone aware of it.
So far I'm leaning towards BMB right now.

 

I feel like we need to call the other one BMB for less confusion.

 

is it just the photo angle or does zetas in fact have more face obscured by the front part of the cockpit than BMB's? also are zeta's eyes more dead or they just haven't shown the intended final deco yet?

Yep. I ended up putting a preorder down for both Zeta and BMB. Zeta's flight stand and tweaked proportions is making me wait on it (and probably better QC), but otherwise, BMB has better paint and much better-looking hands. as well as being cheaper. Guess we'll see how they fare in reviews.

This figure hasn't been getting enough praise imo, looks 98% like the 3A version, can transform, and is $160?? This figure has really come a long way from those early prototype images, hope it releases soon!

 

Its pretty cool the stand basically turns into a suitcase. I mean you're probably just gonna flight stand it, but still a pretty nifty trick

 

Ok, I rewatched the review and I figured out the mistake.

Around the 25 minute mark, he says: "here are 2 missiles," then he touches the big thing and says this doesn't move, which I also interpreted as being missiles. He didn't actually say the missiles couldn't be removed.

Ah that makes a lot more sense. Would be a weird choice for missiles to be permanently attached to him.

 

So then the thing I had mistaken for a missile was the fuel tank?

 

Okay, in those comparison pics, BMB's actually looks better to me. I don't know if it's an earlier version of the design, or if it'll be a nightmare to handle or transform, but I prefer the proportions and paint/colours. Look how the cockpit/collar section sits properly, instead of way too high up on Zeta's!

But they're still way too similar, so will need to wait for reviews of both. Can't remember two companies ever competing to put out the same mold (not just the same character, the same actual figure design!) at the same time before.

 

I think both has its ups and downs. The main body looks more proportionate and accurate ( minus inaccurate paint ) on Zeta but the wings look much better on BMB

 

I think it looks amazing, but it's likely that the source of the nitpicking is because there are two figures right now of the same character in the same "weight class" being shown at the same time.

 

And both are the same design. One is just the old mold but modified by a different company, and the other one is a newer updated design from the original designer. It’s such a bizarre situation.

 

Now, we can see which one has the better crotch.

Indeed, and looking at the 3A Deluxe version Zeta did a great job on the paint apps agree it could use more weathering but that’s about it. Well.....time to place a pre order.  

 

Yeah it is a weird situation indeed, and makes it so easy to want to compare all the details.

 

I hope Zeta toys is watching all those Thunder Warrior reviews and learning from it. The Thunder Warrior figure looks good, but has too many loose tabs and areas that prevent it from being perfect. If Zeta can do a good transformation and solid build everywhere, then we have a winner.

When is this figure coming out?

Man, good year for BumbleBee movie figures. The Transcraft BumbleBee looks to be the best yet, and now Blitzwing has 2 figures coming out. That said, we still need the perfect Optimus Prime. Or at least one without so many QC issues.
