Mine wasn't even from a horror game:

So one quiet afternoon, I was playing Fallout: New Vegas.

I was going around the Sunset Sarsaparilla factory, looting, trying to figure out how to activate the robot-janitor-guy, when suddenly:

    WAHBAM!

A ragdoll error caused one of the dead robot corpses to fling up into the ceiling. Startled the hell out of me.

Then I kept hearing noises, but no-one was in the building but me. (It was just some Fiends outside the building.)

So after a while, I was creeped out to no end, so I figured that I'll look around the left side of the building again befor I le-

    "HOWDY PARTNER!"

    "Holyfuckingshitasdsksninfda!"- Shatterpoint, 2011

And that was the day Victor almost gave me a heart attack.

So what are your scariest videogame moments, TFW?

    Mortal Kombat 2011

I'm chilling in the Krypt, buying some locked stuff, such as concept art and music, and-

    SCREEEE

Some freaking mutant thing jumps out of nowhere and than vanishes; I literally jumped off my chair and shrieked in horror. The Krypt is normally this silent, though ominous, place, and these things jumping me at me are just horribly contrasting.

Also, Noob Saibot's Make a Wish Fatality. He and his shadow clone grab the victim's legs and fucking pull them apart, slowly and painfully. Listening to the victim screaming in agony as they're torn in half, their organs falling out, is horrifying. Noob Saibot is truly a sadistic monster.

Mine was the first zombie dog that jumps through the window in the first Resident Evil. I jumped and flung my controller across the room! Freaky as hell.

I was playing Resident Evil and I came across the room with the gigantic spiders. I have Arachnophobia. I tried to sneak through the room, but then one of them fell off the ceiling and walked towards me. I was so scared that the game stopped and the screen said "CONTROLLER REMOVED" :lol

My very first Playthrough of the Halo Combat Evolved Level 343 Guilty Spark. being unable to find where I needed to go mixed with wasting ammo taking out the Flood Infection forms all the while was extrememly nerve-wracking.

None of cheap shocks in RE ever really made me jump, but big stuff that suddenly appears when your not expecting or prepared has almost made me brick myself a few times. The second Snake attack in the first, the trenchcoat Tyrant dude suddenly flipping over third floor lobby balcony in 2B and the first chainsaw attack in 4 all come to mind.

Also, the entire Marine campaign in the original AVP FPS probably took a couple of years off my life.

    Bioshock.

    (Early in the game)
You go into a room, pick up a few items, some steam comes up, you turn around to re-oriente yourself, and a splicer is just standing there looking at you.

Drowning in sonic that music is terrifying.
I alway thought that gears of wars 1 had an Erie feeling compared to 2 and 3 but I was never scared.
The feeling you get when your last pokemon left is poisoned and you have to rush out to safety before it dies and you have not potions or healing items.

was watching my cousin play singularity one night and he was crawling through a vent and we saw a mutated body that was hunched over and it looked like it was dead. two steps later, it pops up and attacks him. another moment was when he was swimming through a flooded room and when he was about to turn a corner, i said "that'd be scary as hell if a body was just floating right there as you turn the corner." next thing we know, i called it.

    both times, we shat bricks

... This will come as piss weak.

When I was seven, the Chicken Run game, the one based off of the movie. The dog always made me scream whenever he caught me. Fucking stupid piece of shit. Now I have never completed that horrific PS1 game and never will.

Let's see... getting hit in the face from around the corner with a steel chair by a druggy in Condemned from what seemed like a non inhabited area. Then, in Condemned 2, the freakin monster bear in the cabin.

YES! Sonic's drowning music is horrible in a terrifying way.

    Dead Space- pretty much everything.

Resident Evil 4- the Regenerators. Creepiest creature design from a RE. I knocked one on the ground, thought I could run around it, and it freakin flops like a giant fish out of water and bit me.

The doll boss in Silent Hill: Homecoming. The whole cinematic where it... forms and the actual creature itself and the ensueing fight.

King's Field on the Playstation- now this was one of my earliest actual free roaming, first person game, and it had a very eerie feel to it. So, walking in knee deep water and seeing an abyss near me was creepy, and having a fish hit me out of knowhere scared me. Also, later on in that game, falling through a hole in the floor that leads to a giant monster ant nest.

Splatterhouse 3 on the Genesis. Thank you game for describing how a demon bore worm is slowly eating my girlfriend from the inside out while I try to make it to her.

One of mine came from F.E.A.R. I was walking on some pathway underground and came to a ladder. Things had been pretty quite for a while. I get on the ladder and the camera turns to face to pathway, nothing; look down and then back up again and catch a brief glimpse of child Alma standing there, only to look down and up again and nothing. Scared the shit outta me.

Man, to this day I didn't know anyone who had played this. I loved Kings Field. The beginning was especially creepy, not knowing what to do or where to go and all. And the sound effects and music only made it worse.

Rayman 3. I was scared as hell during the entire Knaaren level.

Also when I was a kid I played this frogger game and when you died, this huge skull came up on the screen made a loud noise. It freaked the hell out of me.

Yeah, the beginning was where I started walking around in the shallow water and just found it really creepy- I know if I played it now it would be really simple looking, but back then I was really immersive.
