Personally, I like the tank. It works really well for Megatron. It's much more functional and useful than a gun but is still able to destroy anything in it's path. Plus, he doesn't have to hand himself over to the actual least trustworthy person out there. But how about you guys? What's your favorite Megatron alternate mode?

 

Im a fan of him being a tank too....it just feels right. I also don't mind him as a jet...guess that's why I enjoy titans return megatron so much

 

Tank.

 

Gun or tank.

 

Neither.

I wonder why they didn't go the most obvious way of giving him a self-propelled howitzer alt mode if it can't be a realistic gun model anymore. They look distinctly different than tanks and this kind of alt mode isn't that common. He'd be more unique amongst his troops.

 

The tank. While I am more familiar with his jet form, I feel like his tank form showcases his power better.

Tank. There is NOTHING intimidating about the villain becoming a small gun. That would be like Darth Vader becoming his own lightsaber and having Tarkin swing it around.

 

Multi-changer: truck, cannon, gunship, AND dragon.

 

Helicopter all day long.

 

Transformers: Animated type Helicopter (with the MTMTE/Lost Light style Robot mode)

 

As far as the Decepticon Megatron goes, I'm good with either a tank or attack helicopter. Though a tyrannosaurus will always be my favourite alt mode for a Megatron.

 

Dino and Dragon are for a completely different character with the same moniker and should be removed as options, IMO

 

Wasn't Robots in Disguise Megatron a dragon?

 

Maybe I'm wrong, but wasn't he also a different character?

 

We already have a badass helicopter con, his name is Vortex, we already have a badass tank con and his name is Brawl. But I’d choose a cybertronian tank mode for Megatron. A tank that also is capable of flight in ROTF. It seems more alien and cool. Also another con that doesn’t seem to scan Earth vehicles at all is Shockwave.

 

Depends on how you look at things, truth be told. In Japan, he was Gigatron. Car Robots was in the Generation 1 continuity. However, Hasbro renamed him Megatron when they brought the show over. And since Robots in Disguise is in it's own continuity, it technically makes him a separate character as well.

 

This one's tough. For me, the most basic criterion is whether or not the vehicle has a big enough gun. To that end, a tank is quite appropriate. But I also like for Megatron to be flight capable in alt mode. TFA Megatron had both elements, so I guess his would be my ideal Megatron alt mode.

 

I liked the Jet mode.
