Had you creative control over an FOC sequel, where would you take the story next, and which characters would you introduce?

Personally I'd want the transformers to crash land the jungle planet of Animatron, and the plotline is a blend of G1, Beast Wars and Cybertron, where the natives lived in harmony with the mechanical beastformers of the planet until Zarak usurped the throne and now rules over the planet with an iron fist, with a small resistance force of Beast Era characters opposing him. Environments would feature jungles, swamps, caves, temples and ruins that are a blend of both stone and metal, the planet resembling a mix of both organic and Cybertronian design, and it'd be a great way to mix in many more beast forms among the existing vehicle designs of the series.

All I can think of is a title, Rebirth of Cybertron or Return to Cybertron.

I was thinking 'Flight from Cybertron' or 'Plight of Animatron'

    Title: Ghosts of Cybertron

Main Characters: This is where things get interesting... basically, there would be groups or teams. Each level you have to play as one particular, predetermined character but you can then select your partners that can help you, which causes the dialogue to change (think like in Saints Row 4 how after a battle different characters will banter and each pairing results in new conversations).

    Some examples of the groups:

-Optimus Prime, Bumblebee (injured at the start), Cliffjumper, Silverbolt, Hound

    -Ironhide, Arcee, Sideswipe, Seaspray, Wheeljack

-Prowl, Mirage, Skids, Ratchet, Ultra Magnus

    -The Wreckers

    -The Dinobots

    -Megatron, Soundwave, Barricade, Slipstream, Deadlock

-Starscream, Shockwave, an Insecticon, and a couple more Decepticons

    -The Combaticons

    -The Constructicons

Locations: This is where things get interesting. Basically, when the Ark and the Nemesis went through the wormhole the two ships broke up and different groups end up on different planets. But what is discovered, as the game goes on, is that ancient Cybertronians actually visited these places and left devices and relics that interact with the other planets and, if used right, could open Space Bridges to anywhere in the universe. The Autobots seek the find these so they can regroup together and find a new home, while Megatron wishes to use them as a way to rule the universe, by transporting his forces anywhere he thinks.

Missions on each world (there would be an ice planet, a desert world, a jungle, water planet with islands... stuff completely different from the Cybertron lands we have seen) would cause changes to other worlds... Cliffjumper activating a device by accident during his mission would cause a med bay to open up for Ratchet or activate a sentry weapon where Starscream is.

Subplots would include the remaining Dinobots finding Grimlock and then teaming up when they learn that Sludge might still be alive, the Wreckers hunting down the Combaticons, Shockwave and Starscream forming an uneasy alliance, Deadlock's debate about remaining a Decepticon and Optimus working to save Bumblebee's life.

    Chaos, I approve.

On one condition: Scattershot be a Wrecker who is an artillery expert. So playing as say, Springer, he could launch attacks on designated targets

That would be the idea, yes. Who you chose to be your teammates would determine what you can and can't do and would actually alter the game.

For example, lets say the team of Ironhide, Arcee, Sideswipe, Seaspray, Wheeljack are on a water planet. Seaspray is the player character and can pick two to go with him on the mission. Ironhide would provide fire power for battles, Arcee would be small and lithe enough to climb outcrops no one else can get too, Sideswipe would be able to pilot a vehicle you find, and Wheeljack could repair devices. Playing with Ironhide and Wheeljack would be completely different than playing as Arcee and Sideswipe.

And the actions you pick there would alter later levels... say Arcee finds a device in an outcrop and turns it on. it would be connected to a jungle planet and open up a temple door, opening up a whole new level for Cliffjumper to explore with optimus. But that would mean they would not go to their original destination, which means devices that would alter things where the dinobots are would not happen.

I've had this idea ever since FOC came out:

Set on Cybertron after the events of FOC. A Halo 3: ODST-styled survival/horror shooter that follows Elita 1's team of fembots as they try to survive an Insecticon-overrun Cybertron, with Shockwave having been put in charge during Megatron's absence.

I have no idea what I'd title it, so for now let's just go with Transformers: Fembots Gone Wild

I'd want the robot being in disguise to happen.

You OP gave me the thought it don'est need to be Earth. Thou I think that's more mark-able. But they could land on Nebulon or somewhere.

I'd want the game to have all the Transformers with disguise alt mode. Transforming and reveling you bot mode in native area raise a panic meter and chance the military showing up. And if you do it too often. they start making tech to combat you.
Having hiding in disguses (some what like prototype head it) being a major part.

This at the back drop of the Decepticon trying to undercut and disable the military forces and claim a section of the world; to re-build their ship or make a new way back to Cyberton while Megatron is still trying to hunt down the rest of the autobots. The Autobots as trying to stay hidden from Megatron also try to stop them, and try to make contact with the native is hopes of warning them and making an allies.
Maybe this could open up a chase level were you'd need to lose the local cops with out transformeing?
And I'd REALLY want more of that stealth level we had with Cliffjumper in FoC. I really liked that. (But maybe with someone who is a sneaky character this time. CliffJumper is hardy my firs choose for sneaking)

But I wouldn't want the whole game to be about hiding. I'd still want some assault on orbital base and it'd be a run and gun level.

I would rather if the game in liner with not a multitude of options, but at some major points you get to decide a change in the story given a possible out come of 4 or 5 different ending.

    Something like:
    ALL Transformers are being hunted
The planet is unware of the secret war going on
The Con claim a section an open a space bridge to cybertron
The Autobot make a public and strong alliance with the natives but the cons are still here

stuff like that, but every ending would leave to game open for more to come

    I'd play that!

LOL. How about Rogues of Cybertron? Like as in Shockwave labels them rogues for trying to usurp his rule and they're like, sure whatever fucks with you.

Resistance of Cybertron? Hunters of Cybertron? Fuck You Shockwave on Cybertron?

You could just have the 86 movie as a game with updated foc style alt forms:

    Prologue: Lithone
PC Kranix, introduction to the controls etc, escape to the shuttle, Unicron cut scene.

Level 1: attack the Autobot transport
PC's would be either Megatron, Starscream or Scrapper, bosses at the end being Brawn, then Prowl and finally Ratchet and Ironhide.

    Level 2: warn Autobot city!
PC's either Hot Rod or Kup, racing segments (get it out of the way), Blitzwing fight for Kup then later Insecticon bosses.

    Level 3: prepare for extermination
PC's Megatron, Scrapper then Devastator, using foc bruticus style smash the defences to finish the level.

    Level 4: turn the tide
PC's any one of the Dinobots, to bring down Devastator, then Prime leading the fight back, boss fight with Megatron.

    Level 5: bad comedy
PC Galvatron, basically the same as foc level just with Galvatron replacing Megatron. End of Starscream. 2nd attack on Autobot city.

Level 6: escape from Autobot city
PC's Ultra Magnus, Springer, Arcee or Hot Rod, running battle to get to the shuttle.

    Level 7: Quintessa
PC's Hot Rod, Kup then Grimlock, big squid fight at the start, Grimlock smash at the end.

    Level 8: Junk
PC's Cyclonus or Scourge, defeat the Autobots until only Ultra Magnus remains, boss fight!

Level 9: Dare to be stupid
PC's Springer, then Wreck-Gar, duel style choose your favourite boss fight.

    Level 10: Dismemberment
PC Unicron, laying into Cybertron. Then Shockwave leading the counter assault, then either Ramjet, Dirge or Thrust, followed by the Autobot spacecraft, culminating with the eye crash.

Level 11: belly of the beast
PC's either Springer, Kup, Arcee then Daniel. Then Hot Rod, final battle with Galvatron, turning into Rodimus Prime for the second part of the fight.

Add in generic Autobots and Decepticons to each of the levels to add variety along with the odd mini boss character, maybe Windcharger or Wheeljack, good to go...

Your ideas sound like a very creative and well paced use of the characters and plot, perhaps it could even have cel shaded graphics to better mimic the look of the movie?

Just to expand on my character ideas for the Animatron roster:

    New Decepticons:

Zarak: Despotic ruler of the jungle planet, having enslaved most of the population and forcing them to work in the Energon mines. Rather than a Neblonian, in this story he is an unusually powerful Minicon, and his seat of power is the Great Temple, which he combines with to become Scorponok for the final boss battle. Plot wise, the Cybertronian Decepticons initially battle against his forces, until the two leaders meet and form an uneasy alliance.

Mindwipe: Zaraks right hand man, who uses his hypnotic powers to control the slaves. He is also well versed in the use of Dark Energon, and uses it to reanimate a room full of dead transformers during his boss battle. Speaks with a distinctly Romanian sounding accent.

Skullcruncher: Whilst not too bright, he possesses enormous size and strength and functions as Zaraks bodyguard, aswell as eating any insubordinates to his masters rule, a role he particularly enjoys. He is fought as the boss of the Swamp level.

Weirdwolf: Leader of Zaraks main army, he is somewhat mad and witters constantly to himself. Regardless of this, he is a skilled, agile and dangerous opponent who is encountered numerous times.

The Predacons: Razorclaw, Rampage, Divebomb, Headstrong and Tantrum serve as the elite enforcers of Zaraks regime, tasked with hunting down and destroying any resistance to his rule. To this end, the utilise their innate ability to combine into Predaking, who has yet to be bested by any warrior on Animatron.

..and Blot: Rounding off Zaraks cadre of followers is the stupid, brutish and repulsive Blot. Utterly despised by pretty much everyone on Animatron INCLUDING his fellows (yet completely oblivious to this fact), Zarak has him assigned as the head overseer of the mines in order to be as far away from him as possible, though Blot sees this as a great honour and revels in the brutality of his role. He is fought as the boss of the Mines, where he trails corrosive pools of acidic waste, fires vomit projectiles and hurls boulders to attack.

    New Autobots:

The resistance is formed from well known Beast Era Maximals, Optimus Primal (known simply as 'Primal' here), Rhinox, Cheetor, Rattrap and Dinobot (known as 'Slash'), whose backgrounds and motivations are largely the same as in that series, aswell as the obscure Icebird, portrayed as a mystic who foresaw the arrival of the Autobots and Decepticons as revealed to him the mysterious 'Oracle' - he also transforms into a missile toting owl, what's not to like?

Rounding off the new Autobot additions are the remaining Aerialbots Slingshot, Skydive and Fireflight, who were on the Ark when it crashed, and can now combine with Silverbolt and Air Raid into Superion, who battles Predaking when he discovers the Resistances main base.
