I've heard a lot of people express dislike and even hatred for this game simply because of the reduced multiplayer mode. Seems like a rather small gripe next to the mess that is escalation, if you ask me. My personal opinion was that the game was good, but could have been amazing. Like, blowHalo4andMassEffect3outofthewater-amazing if they'd kept all the good things from the first game , like Co-op, escalation, Kill-streaks, Vehicle abilities, and DLC maps. Anyway, this is mainly a poll thread. Vote away!

And yes, I know there have been threads similar to this. I just wanted to see an accurate representation of the current opinion.

 

Mediocre. Multiplayer isn't that fun and I got pretty much got bored of the game after finishing campaign. Wasn't worth the $60.

I felt it was alright but it seemed to be a stripped down version of WFC. I can live with its limitations but I cannot state enough that having your character stick to everything it comes in contact with is maddening. (Deathmatch/Conquest/etc) Escalation plays fairly clean but is severely lacking.

But much better than WFC. There's some really good level and scenario design in FOC, which is a hell of a lot more than I can say for WFC.

 

It was a close call between Good with issues and mediocre with more flaws than strong points. I eventually decided on good.

Campaign was mixed for me. Some levels worked, others didn't and some were half, half. But I think it had more good than bad. The generic shoot em up levels were the best. Although Megatron's felt too generic. The stealth in the stealth levels was near impossible, several levels were too short and a couple even spent more time on a second character who has his own separate level.

Multiplayer is a general mess and I honestly don't remember Escalation but I don't think it was that bad. I didn't play Multiplayer for long but the biggest flaws I did find were the inferior graphics taking me out of the experience, the slow pace and unnecessary changes from WFC such as the Infiltrator being merely a weaker but faster version of the Titan. The Customization, though not as good as hoped for, was a huge improvement over WFC and host migration helped, when it worked.

 

Lots of fanwank and some great ideas. Execution was subpar at points, level design never got interesting. Alt forms didn't mean jack squat, and multiplayer was even more stripped down and mindless than the first.

That and the PC port was a mess.

 

Good and enjoyable Campaign. Multiplayer was good but could be better. Escalation was good but limiting. Overpriced DLC.

 

I thought that the ability to upgrade weapons equipment etc would have been better. I never felt as though upgrading my weapons did more damage. I.e. enemy has 3 hp normal gun does 1 hp = 3 shots to kill. Upgrading it all the way moves it up to 3 damage and now it only takes 1 shot to kill same enemy. Being stuck without a choice of transformers for a level sucked, I liked being able to choose (even if limited to 3) who I wanted to play on a given level. I also felt that the story behind WFC was superior to FoC. Don't get me wrong I liked FoC, it just could have been better.

 

This just about summarizes my opinion as well.

 

Tch, wanted to see who the fool was who thought it was the best game ever.

But yeah I honestly expected and wanted more, and due to highmoons handling of the whole affair they've lost one sale on the deadpool game.

 

Story wise, it's awesome. The multiplayer is also great but the only thing we're missing is killstreak awards.

 

I would have voted "very well done" if it didn't have so many horrendous bugs that ruin it for me.
Such as the texture loading problem they never fixed even though they said they would.
Or bumping into anything stunning you for 2 seconds.
Or the bad sound syncing. Every time I play Bumblebee's level, I'm almost at the top of the elevator, and then "RUMBLE-- CREATE AN ENTRANCE"

 

To be fair that's an engine issue and memory limitations of console hardware. You either remove graphical fidelity or increase load times to keep it all in memory at once.

 

It was good, but it wasn't anything amazing. Better than WFC's campaign, but the changes to Escalation killed online.

I also feel there's no replay in campaign due to the lack of different playable characters on each stage (the same bot each time got boring) & no co-op was a serious down grade. Over priced Disked Locked Content really pissed me off!!! No new maps, they killed Sludge in his one & probably only game debut (even before he officially became a Dinobot), they removed killstreaks, decent colors & vehicle abilities for no sane reason, campaign was way too short for my taste (especially some of it's levels), no real boss fights, there's really nothing to unlock besides weapon upgrades (no Arcee & Slipstream unlocked like in WFC, unless you pay extra for Disk Locked Characters)... not to mention all the lying from HMS & there lack of support for the game.

So, as you can see... my opinion of this game isn't all that great. I picked stripped down version of WFC (obviously).

 

I had fun.
I could sit here and list gripes, like the DLC, minor clipping glitches I encountered, and the issues in Multiplayer, but at the end of the day: I had fun. The graphics were adequate, the voice acting was great, and the story was a neat little microcosm of a pre-earth story.

 

I enjoyed it thoroughly, I work and have kids so I didn't rush out and buy it right away, I waited for a sale at WalMart then pricematchwed at TRU at -10%, so I only paid 17 bucks for it. Took my time playing through the campaign and working on multiplayer, I've owned the game for a month now, and am still enjoying it when i get time to play. Planning on working my way up to prime mode and replaying the campaign on the hard setting, definetly worth 17 bucks imo, but i refuse to pay 60 for any game.

 

Lets see got this for Christmas, just finished beating the campaign right now. Seemed really short imo. Haven't played any other modes so far.
