if after TF5, or after this next trilogy or just as a hypothetical, a reboot movie was to be made, what would your autobot and decepticon casts be. for a reboot, i think characters, designs and plot should be more G1 based. im not one of those fanatics who thinks EVERYTHING should be like G1 but i think it would work well in recreating the movieverse brand. i imagine them being somewhat based on their WFC/FOC looks and traits. Autobots: Optimus prime-more g1 character and design bumblebee-DOES speak, has his IDW/movie looking appearance, the smallest, besides arcee ratchet-same as always jazz-same as always ironhide-mixed g1/movie look, has more of a AOE hound personality and arsenal, weapons up the wazoo wheeljack-more of a mad scientist, like doc brown arcee-mix of traits from all versions but typical strong female, think g1/prime mix mirage-arrogent and distant from other bots, kinda full of himself Hound-more g1 based jetfire-would appear later, be mostly g1/foc based (I wanted to add prowl and overrdie too but thats too many bots to get to know in one movie, they can be introduced in the sequel ) prowl-more military minded authoritarian, a counter to the open mindedness of optimus and jazz. doesnt like being on earth or fighting for humans and will stand up to optimus if he doesnt argee with his decisions override-speed demon and racing nut, possible romance with bumblebee Decepticons: megatron-mix of multiple versions, mostly g1 based, looks kinda like the version from the new universe game starscream-same old character, but in addition to persoanl ambition, he also sees megatron as insane and knows he will eventually destroy them all soundwave-same old character, has laserbeak slipstream-starscreams spark twin, mostly based on animated version, hates starscream but has conflicting loyalties to both him AND megatron sixshot-megatron enforcer and super-soldier, mostly based on g1/idw self, i kinda see him as a mix of movieverse shockwave and blackout in terms of personality decepticon troopers-tfp vehicons basically, i want more emphasis on them being like the star wars stormtroopers. imagine a decepticon doing the Wilhelm Scream, classic XD so, what are yours and what are they like. also would like some thoughts on my choices if you dont mind. lets hear 'em

Bots: Optimus-I actually liked his sleeker look in AOE Bee- Current Camaro form (Beetle=Fugly). He can speak with his own voice Sideswipe- Modern day Lambo, G1 colors. Has his jetpack and swords Jazz- Modern Porsche with G1 colors Ratchet- I liked his TFP look and personality. I'd use that. Prowl- G1 colors, Animated personality. Dodge Viper. Sunstreaker- Modern Lambo, G1 colors Smokescreen- TFP colors and personality Ironhide- Bayverse Wheeljack- TFP colors and personality, Scientist and Wrecker Drift and Crosshairs Cons: Megs-TFP inspired Starscream- Built more like G1, personality more like TFP Shockwave Soundwave Knockout-TFP inspired Barricade Thundercracker Skywarp Dirge Bludgeon Skyquake and of course there would be Dinobots and Predacons

Though I don't feel any special attachment to the original G1 designs other than elderly respect, if Optimus must look closer to his G1 form, he should have his IDW Robots In Disguise Season 2 body. And as far as I can tell, he transforms into a Freightliner Argosy (yes, the same truck as AOE Galvatron). It's the closest thing we can get to a flat-nose truck while maintaining Optimus' size.

i'd do more like a soft reboot. a whole new cast of robots, a whole new cast of humans. maybe in future earth. with i guess rodimus prime as leader. or maybe even a whole new leader. one we haven't seen before. and the rest would be all new too. a new decepticon leader, and a new army. a whole new cast of original characters. that is what i would do. but i would want it to be within the same continuity as the bay movies. just with out the stupid "we must find the cube/seed/matrix," whatever stuff. just have the decepticons looking for energy is enough for me.

first movie Autobots. 20-30 of them. Decepticons Sixshot. second movie. Number of Autobots heavily reduced for second movie(5-6),earth in an almost post apocalyptic ambient. And Megatron arrives with a couple of his henchmen.
All I would really want in a possible TF reboot is Richard Armitage as Optimus, Bryan Cranston as Megatron, and Benedict Cumberbatch as Shockwave. Anyone else is debatable.
Autobots: Ultra Magnus - the leader - turns into a truck with completely the wrong shade of blue. Has a butt flap and can deal with it, damn you. Camshaft - turns into an orange Kia - has many axes and a Danish accent Groove - Turns into a Harley Davidson - has many tattoos and long hair Grimlock - Turns into a toy remote controlled therapod type Dinosaur. Talks in a language that no one can understand. Windblade - turns into a police traffic helicopter with a hispanic accent and attitude to match Hoist - the medic, turns into a purple vehicle recovery truck. Has no sense of timing. Kup - cranky old timer, turns into an ancient John Deere ride on lawn mower. Wears glasses that he keeps losing and will say 'Get off my lawn!' At least once. Decepticons: Overlord - the leader, triple changer who turns into a space shuttle and equivilently sized naval ship. A sadist who cares for nothing except death and destruction. Bludgeon - Turns into a bus - has a skull face, a cloak, and a scythe. Rumble - turns into a news van with a big sattelite dish Razorclaw - a military transport vehicle who turns into a mechanical cat of some sort. Doesn't have a mane. Thundercracker - turns into a Harrier jump jet.
Since the other thread is locked and bound to be buried, I'll just post my cast here. ----- Autobots The war has ended long ago and the Decepticons have since been chased into hiding, but a group of Autobots remain vigilant on Earth, in case they are to ever return. Optimus Prime: Generally the same as his predecessor, though he becomes weary of his "murderous" persona and has trouble keeping his cool under pressure. It has led him to rethink his motto and whether he is truly as righteous as they say. Transforms into his AOE Truck form. Airazor: A cool and collected strategist and second in command to Prime. She tends to survey the battle from above and sends tactical advice to Optimus and the others. Acts as the clear after-thought and problem solver of the group. If necessary, she'll swoop down and take out a few enemy jets herself. Transforms into a UAV spy-plane. Crosshairs: Pretty much the same as his personality in AOE, conflicts with Prime at times but is overall a lifelong friend of his. Same Alt as in AOE. Botanica: The team's scientist and "mom" of the group. She is easily annoyed and hates it when people mess with her work or act disrespectful. She's basically a rule 63 Animated Ratchet with four arms. Transforms into the "cutest little coup." Blackarachnia: Former Decepticon and the group's outcast. She tends to butt heads with Crosshairs for their conflicting beliefs and for her history with the cons. Acts as the snarker of the group and is not above thuggery. Triple changer-- turns into a giant spider tank and a treaded assault vehicle. Decepticons Three Decepticons remain stranded on Earth... but a mysterious fourth has arrived on a mission to re-awaken a powerful, ancient warrior that could potentially bring the Decepticons back to their former glory. Strika: Leader of the remaining Decepticons on earth, Strika is brutish but not without a great strategic mind, she butts heads with Scourge upon his arrival and attempt to take command, but bows loyally to Galvatron when he proves his own power. A former leader of Team Chaar, she is left with only two other robots under her command and sometimes laments on how far she's fallen. Transforms into a six-wheeled assault tank. Cyclonus: Second in command to Strika, a Decepticon warrior who has a history with Scourge. He is quiet and bound by honour, something that annoys Strika greatly. He acts as a guardian to the younger Decepticon Tailgate. Despite his calm nature, he is a wicked force on the battlefield and few can stand in his way. Transforms into a Cybertronian jet-fighter. Tailgate: The ingenue, referred to as a "she". A young, eager robot who signed with the Decepticons not long after they met their end. She has been looked after by Cyclonus ever since and has delusions of Decepticon grandeur. Turns out to be a pretty nice gal when you get down to it. Can't exactly fight, and the only reason Strika keeps her around is because she knows that if she tried to kill her, she'd have the wrath of Cyclonus to answer to. Transforms into the same alt-mode as Generations Windcharger. Scourge: A newly arrived Decepticon veteran that has accidentally scanned Optimus Prime while he was in truck mode when searching for a disguise. Due to his aging systems, he was made to look exactly like Optimus Prime, much to his chagrin. Though with a quick black and cyan repaint and a plethora of added gear and weaponry, he manages to stand out as a proper individual once again. He arrives on Earth with a mission to reawaken the fabled warrior Galvatron. Holds a great dislike for Optimus due to his hypocrisy between murder and freedom. Crosshairs calls him "Nemesis Prime", something that angers him to no end. Same alt as Prime, but with added spikes and weaponry. Galvatron: Long after the war had ended, Megatron was lost, but some say this new threat is Megatron reincarnated! Galvatron is a mysterious barbarian of sorts-- a warrior found beneath Earth's crust after thousands of years of sleep. Galvatron is a rage-filled beast on the battlefield that does not appear to have any sort of real intelligence. Despite this, it is greatly hinted at that he is actually a very skilled strategist and scientist, and appears to have ulterior motives to just mindless destruction. Transforms into a Cybertronian racer like Cybertron Megatron/Galvatron, but eventually adopts the form of his AOE self to avoid detection. Humans Geoff: Works in a mining corporation and uncovers Galvatron's sarcophagus. He tends to be quiet but paranoid and is often teased by his co-workers about seeing alien robots in the past. He meets Tailgate and becomes a close friend of hers as well as a somewhat less close friend or Cyclonus. The two become his guardian of sorts. He supplies the Decepticons with information and is rescued by the Autobots upon Galvatron's sudden reawakening and destruction of his work-place. Lyndsay: Geoff's boss and in charge of the mining operation. She speaks to a hidden figure who implies that the uncovering of Galvatron was intentional. Acts strict and pragmatic. Isn't fazed by the conspiracy she has been wrapped into.

HUMANS - Daniel Witwicky: College dropout turned mechanic, back in Oregon to keep the family business alive, and not real happy about it since he had all the makings of an engineering whiz. Early 20s. - Marissa Fairborne: Sole surviving military commander of the Decepticons' first assault on humankind. Leery about digging the Autobots out of their watery grave at the bottom of Lake Michigan, but desperate for SOME kind of counter-measure against Megatron. Mid- to late 30s. - Victor Drath: Terrorist arms dealer, wanted by just about every superpower on the planet. Hid out briefly in the civilian excavation crew assigned to uncover the Nemesis down in Antarctica, following a tip on the advanced weapons tech it carried. Same age as Fairborne. - Jessica Morgan: Daniel's girlfriend, same age as him. Promising college athlete career ended by a back injury. Her dad doesn't much like Daniel. - Koji Onishi: Daniel's best friend since his parents came to the States when he was little. Laid-back surfer-type; his dad is a lab tech for the same nearby fuel processing plant where Jessica's dad works. Same age as Daniel and Jessica. Those are the significant human characters, anyway; as you can see, basically I just took cartoon characters and reworked them to be more in line with some of the comics characters: Daniel = Dreamwave Spike, Marissa = IDW Spike, Drath = Lazarus, Jessica and Koji = Jessie and O.
