I was watching this on youtube: Transformers: Dark Of The Moon - Special Edition - Special Features - Behind The Scenes - Part 8 - YouTube

And then it hit me: Too many fans either think Bay and his team are nothing but money hungry, they're ruining Transformers, or their TF movies are horrible movies with horrible plots. And people almost feel like transformers 4 shouldn't be made. Now I admit, I have felt that way before but then I thought of how excited I was to hear about DOTM and how hyped up I was for that movie. I joined TFW because of it! That's not to say I'm only into the movies, because I've seen G1 and loved it, and I love TF: Prime, but the movies gives Transformers an edge that none of the shows could give; the type of action, music, emotion.

I personally think DOTM is Bay's best work, and it isn't really like revenge of the fallen, with the flaws and all. But despite the flaws, I favor this franchise over any other, because come on, who doesn't love live action transformers blowing the sh*t out of everything fighting a war over our planet?

I made this thread primarily to ask, am I the only one on the boards who loves this franchise and can't wait for the next installment?

You'll be surprised at how many people in this thread alone will comment about how much they hate his very existence, let alone his TF movies.

I love the movies, and can't wait for whatever comes next.

I for one am very excited for the next movie, for where it might go and what might come of it. They aren't perfect movies by any means of course; they all have a lot of issues, a lot of flaws, and sure there are things about them that make me want to punch a box of kittens. But this has always been this kind of franchise; there isn't a single Transformers show or comic series that doesn't have its own ups and downs and issues with the creative staff. Why this one should receive so much vitriol I don't understand; after all, if you don't like it, no one is going to hold you down and make you follow it, or put money towards it.

I am so damn ready for this thing to happen. Bring it on, Bay! Besides, my movieverse shelves need more cool toys.

Seriously? There are plenty of people on these boards who love the movieverse and can't wait to see it. I am quite sure these legions of Bayfans will be posting here with bated breath.

I am not one of them, however. After getting burned on DotM, I can wait to see TF4 at home.

I'm a G1 and TF Prime fan, but I also love the three movies, well except for the gross humor and how they called Wheeljack Que and made his face so very ugly, etc.

Now about the toys, I've lost my fondness for most of them, but I'm still hoping against hope TF4 would have some really exciting stuff...

I loved the first movie and would like nothing better than a return to form. I also love the Rock. So i'm not opposed to Bay's work in a general sense, nor him working on transformers...I just thought RoTF wasn't anything special and i personally hated DoTM. I want to feel the magic i felt with the first film.

ROTF Is excusable due to the writers strike and everything else that made production really difficult to move forward. At least I have an idea (after watching ROTF) of how the movie could have turned out.

I'm still a big fan of the movie's because of the robot designs, and still am.
If only there was a way to remove some usless jokes from the movies though.

ROTF pretty much killed my love for the Movieverse. Well, that and how tired I am of the Movie toys.

That said, I still find myself loving some things from the Movieverse. Ironhide, Evil Sentinel Prime, Barricade, Bonecrusher, Blackout, and such are still cool characters with solid designs, and I still like Bumblebee even if I'm tired of him.

One does not simply make a "movieverse appreciation" thread... :lol

But seriously, no, you're not alone. There's plenty of movieverse fans. And for those that aren't? Well, more power to them. Not everyone has to like the same things.

My personal mindset? Let those who enjoy the movieverse enjoy it, and let those who don't enjoy the movieverse not enjoy it. Don't let others' negativity bog down what you want to enjoy.

I'd say The Rock was Micheal Bay's best work. Oh it's kind of crazy and it's over the top but it was made at a time when it felt okay to still give nods to the insanity that was 80's action movies. Since it was only his second film things still felt fresh instead of feeling like it's the same bag of tricks you've seen before.

The live action movies are hardly the worst things to ever have the Transformers name slapped onto it but I just can't feel excited about the films any more. The writers were pretty cool about interacting with fans and that made the first one kind of exciting even if there were reasons to have some misgivings. But Revenge of the Fallen kind of ruined me from watching Transformers movies in the theater because we were promised how the second movie was going to fix so much only to end up as a mess.

I'll rent Transformers 4 at some point but unless there is some major shifts from the usual in the next film it's just not a must see film. I'll likely be too excited about the count down to the last Hobbit movie to worry about anything else.

Without the movies, my FB friends won't show their attention to the franchise. I really want to know how TF4 goes.

It is alright, pal. "We are here. We are waiting..........." Quote stolen from the first movie.

I still cling on to my faith at the Transformers live-action series.

The movies are amazing masterpieces. People just hate them because they are pathetic losers and want to pretend they are smart.

The stories are easy to follow, the idea that so many people think they are confusing just flabberghasts me.

They can't even comprehend how much Transformers has revolutionized the special effects industry.

How can a movie that made so much money be possibly as bad as they make it out to be? How course they will pull out the old revenue doesn't equal quality argument but that horse has been flogged to death by now.

I would honestly like to hear one good reason why these movies are so financially successful if they are as bad as critics say they are.

I like the live action Transformers films. They're what brought me into the franchise, and for that I am greatful. I love the designs, the fight scenes and the action in general. I like the stories that each movie tells, save for the unnecessary jokes or the odd plot hole here and there.

Yes, I do like the movies. And I'm somewhat looking forward to Transformers 4 as well.

What I don't understand is when people say the films have no plots. Granted, they do have plot holes, but they are not without plots. That's the only thing I don't fully comprehend. Oh well.

You are making a leap that all things are equal when it comes to movies and if all things are equal then box office must be the indicator of a film is good or bad.

For all the claims about art at Oscar time the main focus of Hollywood is to make money so they will rig the game as best they can to get the most out of the investment they put into their movies. For films with large budgets this means an avalanche of trailers and advertisements to make the big movies seem like a must see event. It means getting as many screens as they can to make sure the film is showing in as many locations as possible. It means finding the release date when that type of film is the most likely to make money.

A low budget film could be the greatest film ever made but without the advertising and the number of screens as the big films it's just not going to bring the same sort of box office as a heavily advertised big budget action film.

You are also making a fairly big leap in logic that people will only watch good things. Looking at some of the hit shows on TV I think it would be hard to say that everyone has perfect taste. Or look at fast food and it's kind of clear that crap sells. Taste vary so just because you think a McDonalds cheeseburger is the best tasting food ever made you can't assume that everyone will agree with you. Or that someone who enjoys fine food will not occasionally go with something bad because bad is sometimes comfort food.

I'm sorry you are upset that everyone doesn't love the movies as much as you do, but you can't expect everyone to like something just because you do. I loved Transformers Animated but that doesn't mean that other people were wrong to dislike the show or that their criticism was somehow invalid.

Exactly, these "award" shows are only to keep the Hollywood machine going. It's hardly a coincidence that the high profile celebrities are always the winners, lol.

Yup, it assumes that life must be fair and if something is successful it must have earned it and if something isn't successful it must be wrong. But life is more complicated.
