My first Transformer was the Beast Wars figure Air Razor back in spring of 1998. I was 8 at the time. All of my friends had Transformers figures and would play with them during recess. The one and only time I brought it to school, it was stolen from me. Quite a few of my friends figures kept getting stolen and we later found out it was one of the kids in our group. My mom got me an Air Hammer figure to replace Air Razor though.
Micro Change Cassette Man, X-Mas 1984. He's long gone. My first TF as an adult collector would be Powerlinx Cyclonus & Bendy Prime purchased around 2002
I don't remember if it was G1 Overkill or Powermaster Prime, but those are the two my parents narrowed it down to.
First transform as a kid back in the 80s: G1 Sludge. It was my only transformer actually. All the other cool TFs (Ramjet, Swoop, Gobot Warpath) went to my brother. My mother frowned upon giving me boy toys (I'm a girl, durr) so I only got some few and far between... It's probably my repressed desires for boy toys that would later help trigger my collecting habits of all these things I could never have... Take that mom! Lol. First transform as an adult. TFTM Jazz late in 2008. I never stopped buying them since.
Now this is going to sound embarrassing and i really want to say it was Beast Wars Cheetor but sadly my first Transformer was *sigh* G1 Wheelie missing his windshield thing. But he was orange and I was 3 so instant love of him
My first TF was G1 Trailbreaker; a birthday gift from a friend back in 1984. Before that I had never really paid attention to transformers, and knew nothing about them. I was fascinated by the concept. Sadly I broke Trailbreaker a couple of years later. I still do have most of my vintage G1 stuff, though they are all in terrible shape, after being played with happily and excessively over many years. As much as I'd love pristine versions of all of them, I will never abandon my originals....knowing and remembering how the looseness and chips came about, recalling putting THIS sticker on crooked...too much sentimental value.
Beast Wars Rattrap and Dinobot. I got them both for my 5th birthday... Holy shit, those figures are 15 years old now. No wonder there isn't trace of them anywhere anymore in my house.
G1 Optimus Prime and Bumblebee! I was in the 4th grade, so I was 9 or 10. That red truck started it all for me as I still to this day, hunt for every Optimus Prime I can get my hands on! Later
I got Starscream for Christmas in '84 when I was 7. I got Prowl a few days later. They are still 2 of my favorite figures/characters.
I don't know if it is the first TF I ever got but I do know it is the one I remember getting most. G1 Prime. I can recall the first(s) figures I got as a collector. BW Optimus Primal, Megatron and Rattrap (all purchased at the same time)
When I was little I saw the Airraptor toy at Walmart and thought it looked cool so my mom bought it for me. I didn't know it was a transformer. Back in 2007, after I was pretty much sold by the final trailer for the first live-action movie, I was at Walmart and decided to get a transformer so I picked up Barricade and started collecting from there. For a while I thought Barricade was my first trasnformer until last year, when I watched through Beast Wars for the first time, I was on this site and I was looking through the Beast Wars and Beast Machines toys and saw Airraptor and realized, "HOLY CRAP! I USED TO HAVE THAT TOY!"
This question again??! ok for the thousandth time: G1 Megatron April 1984 Toys R Us in Roseville $19.99 on an endcap
TF 2007 real gear zoom out 25x I was about 6 years old when my friends gave it to me, whose dad currently has TF 2007 toys in boxes.
