G1 Soundwave w/Buzzsaw in 1984.
Still my favorite Transformers toy all these years later.

 

G1 Ratchet in 1984 for Christmas. My brother got G1 Mirage.

 

G1 Soundwave and Thundercracker. Got both for Christmas in '84.

 

Hmmmmm, if memory serves me correctly, it was either Mirage or Hound. The glorious '84 Christmas!

scrapper followed by all the other constructacons in g2 yellow, such a lovely set to have when i was 5, i grew up on repeats of G1 and grew up on Beast wars Polarclaw was the first transformer i ever brought myself, RID Optimusprime was the first ever transformer i brought with my own earnt money, followed by the unicron trilogy scary to think my son has just started his journey with transformers and im gonna finish im gonna share future lines with him instead of collecting them

 

Laserbeak and Frenzy cassettes, 1984, Roses Department Store, Jacksonville NC. Found it wandering the toy section on my own because that is what we did back then...I also remember more siblings than I have now but we don't talk about that...

 

It was either ROTF Smokescreen or ROTF Desert Tracker Ratchet. I’m inclined to believe it was Ratchet cause he’s missing a lot more pieces than Smokescreen, but something in me thinks it was Smokescreen. I remember playing with Smokescreen more as a kid. Still have both of them though.

 

G1 Bumblebee, late summer of 1984. I liked him in the first two issues of the comic, so I grabbed him as soon as my town had them.

 

The first TF toy I remember playing with is Armada Optimus Prime. However, the first toy I have fond memories of playing with it is Energon Megatron.

I'm pretty sure it was either G1 Bee, Cliffjumper, or Hound or maybe all 3.

 

Discovered Beast Machines Mirage was my first Transformer after years of thinking Armada Starscream was the first.

 

First was a mint fresh out the box broken roof blue streak.
I was living in West Philadelphia
classmate of mine got it bought it to school in the box opens it up and breaks it didn’t want him no more.
Wah-la so he just give him to me.
Un applied stickers,weapons box and all.
(This would not be the last time I would obtain toys like that)
The first I bought w/ my allowance
I’m Back in nyc and straight to Woolworth on pitken ave in Brooklyn and I got the first one I seen on the shelf and that was prowl.

I remember my first 5.

Bought these two in 1984 at Lloyd's Department Store. Family was taking a trip to California (we're in NY). Dad was doing some work in LA, and we turned it into a vacation. I bought these to bring with me on the trip.

I got Sunstreaker in LA. I don't recall the name of the store. I do remember Mom was upset with Dad over something, so we left the hotel to do some shopping.

Figures 4 and 5 came on the last leg of the trip in San Fran on or near Pier 49. Easily my favorite day of the trip (which was quite enjoyable after that first night).

After that I can't recall. Obviously there was an imbalance in the hero:villain ratio, so probably Hound or Prowl, but it might have been a mini-bot.

 

The first figure I ever bought with my own money as a kid. Still love this absolute gorilla.

 

The first Transformer I ever remember getting was Energon Inferno, followed by Optimus and Starscream not long afterwards. However, I vaguely remember having an RID01 Grimlock at some point before that, but I didn’t know what it was, so Inferno counts as my proper first because I got it knowing it was a Transformer.

 

The first Transformer I ever got as far as I can remember was Cybershark (the 1999 version), though one of his hinges snapped and we couldn't transform him and we ended up getting rid of him.
The first Transformer that I bought myself that made me love Transformers and got me into collecting was the cybertron repaint of armada Demolishor.
I got him at a thrift store, so he was missing his minicon but somehow miraculously retained all 4 missiles. Love him to death and still have him to this day!
