I got curious with this post.

It's funny how boards do become part of us even if it is only as a pastime.

The first time I browsed a forum was shoryuken.com too bad that username has been long forgotten. That was back in 2001. My oldest standing username and forum is now going on to 12 years.

    What about you?

    You guys still go there?

As for me shoryuken.com was the place to play against more players. Back then we were only dreaming of online matches but actually had to travel. My biggest one was back in college. East tourney hailing two big canadian cities, Montreal vs Toronto. I traveled with peeps whom I didn't even know their names but only how they played. As cheesy as it may sound it was true. Lol I placed fourth in Capcom vs SNK.

I tried to join back in again but I found myself out of time to play anymore. Bought and played SF4 for a month then forgot all about it for a year.

It's either RuneHQ or the Pokémon Crater forum. I think they're both gone now. Well, RuneHQ may still be around but I stopped playing Runescape several years ago.

I'm leaning more towards it being the Pokémon Crater website. When I was on there I didn't know any BB Codes and on RuneHQ I posted quite a few images.

First forum(s)/MB(s) was Gundam Project in June of '01 (Mercurion there, but it's gone after all those years) and Gundam.com (under the name G.I. Gundam :lol ).

TheKryptonian sometime in '03 was the first time I registered on a board. All we had to do there was ask for a name change, so I went by any number of names over there, but I was easily recognizable by Kyu, Q, Kusanagi, and simply my name- Quentin. Think it was sometime in '07 when the drama just became too much (in-fighting between Admins & Mods and such, splitting sides, the usual) and the Site's Owner & Admin simply decided enough was enough. One day we wake up to a page of "Thanks for the memories" and that was it.

Some of us refugees headed up a board we called ElectricBoogaloo, but that ultimately failed.

Also was on SketchTavern for a while, until that too was put to rest, though for vastly different reasons.

Pojo was my 1s, and then Neopets a little later on, although neither of which were primarily websites I went to for their forums. I mainly liked to read up on cardgame stuff via Pojo & play the Neopets games & whatnot, and once I got older and actually had a workable internet... things began to expand hah.

I am certain I've been part of forums before, but the first one I can REMEMBER was GameFAQs.

My first Transformers forum was Planet Quintessa.
