    First: Brawn G1 1984
Mainly because it was my first Transformer. Little dude’s got a special place in my heart.

    Current: Jetfire Siege
Because I gave away my G1 away when I was a kid. Always regretted it until this showed in the mail.

Originally G1 Bumblebee after getting hooked on the franchise after watching "Attack of the Autobots." The '86 movie had me quickly evaluating potential new favorite characters after the spaceship slaughter, fearing for BB. I latched onto Hot Rod, who only got cooler when he became Rodimus. BB didn't die so I ended up with two favorite characters ever since.

Windblade has surprised me in the last five years or so by creeping into my top five. I just love the whole cityspeaker concept.

First Favorite: I had several. Animated Bumblebee was the very first, but he was quickly deposed by other characters. In fact, I think he was only really my favorite character before I actually watched the show itself (I had the McDonalds Happy Meal toy of him and really liked it.) Ironically, I find him rather annoying now. I liked Animated Blackarachnia quite a lot. (I still like her now, just not as much.) Energon Snow Cat was another early favorite. (No, really. I was seven.) Finally, I loved the G1 Dinobots, since I was a big dinosaur fan as a kid. I was thrilled when my dad (a fan of the original series) told me about the fact that there were robot dinosaurs. (I still like them, too.) Starscream was my favorite for awhile (probably from age 8 to age 10) and then he was replaced by my current reigning favorite, Soundwave, when I finally started watching G1 (what a shock, I know).

Recent Favorite: I didn't much care for Shockwave or Ratchet until I read the Marvel Comics starring them for the first time at about 14-15. Knock Out is another recent favorite. Another recent (but also returning) group of favorites are the members of the Scramble City combiner teams (specifically the four that were introduced before the 1986 movie). I particularly have become a big Aerialbot and Protectobot fan recently (I liked the Combaticons and Stunticons a lot as a kid and a lot now, but for awhile I had kind of forgotten about them because I was focusing more on the 1984 cast).

Optimus was my first favorite, and he still is one of my favorites. However, he's since been passed by Grimlock and Razorclaw. Grimlock's characterization in FoC and IDW is fantastic. As for Razorclaw, I like how he puts himself and the Predacons before the Decepticons. I really wish that they appeared more often.

Ratchet will always be my first favorite Autobot from back in the day and still remains my all time favorite Bot. Most recent addition to the favorite list though would be Prime Knock Out. He was such a great character and I loved just how vane he was about this polish and I really wish he would come back in some form or fashion in a later series.

Gonna be honest, I was never in it for the characters, and still am not even if the shows/comics/etc. would be a chore if they fell flat. It's the mechanical challenge of folding a humanoid figure into some other complex shape that caught my interest from the opening credits of MTMTE to when I took TR Snapdragon of the top of my monitor this morning and set him aside in jet mode to hang from a string later, so I could transform Generations Arcee and have her perch there instead. I guess you could say I liked the medic, inventor, and general science-types - Ratchet, Wheeljack, Grapple, Perceptor, Soundwave, Shockwave, Knock Out in the new material - more than the others on the whole.

My favorite toy (aside from "the next one" :p ) ... ? That's even harder, but I guess I could go with Snapdragon, both in G1 and now. All three of his modes are distinctive and encumbered with minimal kibble from the others, his robot form is big and beefy but still has balanaced proportions, and he shares a color scheme with Sixshot, who is similarly buff and comes in second only because he's very much of the "And this block of plastic is a jet! Or if you fold the wings down, a gun! Turn it over, now it's a submarine!" school of alt-mode design. Also, Titans Return was the best TF line ever and anyone who says otherwise has to fight them both. (And TR Triggerhappy is supposed to arrive today, so likely there will very soon be a new order to the top three slots, with 20th Anniversary OP aka MP-01 knocked out of position.)

My first favorite was either Optimus or bumblebee, I forget. My favorite now is a 3 way tie between optimus, starscream, and hot rod

My first non-minibot Transformer was Bluestreak (after yellow Cliffjumper and Windcharger). I loved the sculpt, loved the 280Z alt mode, loved the face, and loved the box art (even though it showed him in blue). I liked his affable personality on the show, and his PTSD added depth of character and a touch of reality to the fictional war.
Today, it’s Masterpiece Streak and Bluestreak that get and hold my attention most often. I love the details and proportions of that mold.

So, Nautica is IDW-only? I’ll need to read up on her, because I know nothing about her.
I’m surprised MMC hasn’t made a figure of her yet. They’ve been making some great IDW-inspired toys. I almost bought their Roller and his character is a complete unknown to me.

Yeah, she gets quite a bit to do on the MTMTE series, and to me, she is the character that made reading that series worth it, since later on, the flaws really started to show, but thanks to Nautica, I just kept reading.

Only thing that I didn't like was basically Skids being wiped out of her memory, but other than that, she was good and one of the standouts of that run, and this comes from someone who isn't fond of the IDW run. It started alright, but once Spotlight Arcee came around, it all went to hell IMO. Everything became way too political and boring for my taste, but MTMTE was better due to not focusing on that, but there were still some characters that I absolutely disliked. Megatron and Rodimus in particular. I'm a very big Rodimus fanboy, and to see him as such an annoying jerk just angered me; as for Megatron... a lot of people know how much I hate Autobot Megs. But other than that MTMTE is quite possibly the best part of the first IDW universe despite the major flaws.
