we all have our favorite things in transformers things that make us happy
This is a appreciation thread for all my favorite tf media

    1. Tfp: I freaking love this show ik everyone on the boards hates this show to death but I love it imo I find it to be the perfect version of the transformers ( don’t @ me) I love everything about from the action to the story ( ik I might be alone in thinking this but still) I love especially the relic hunts, the Orion pax arc,the unicron arc, and the rebellion arc
I loved all the characters it’s the first transformers show that makes me love the decepticons more the autobots the humans were likable ( Agree to disagree with miko) the human villains weren’t terrible the soundtrack was amazing and a great villain to boot peter Cullen and frank welker reprising their roles and the rest of the cast was amazing all in all I give it a 9.8/10 I might be too biased but that’s how I feel about the show

TLDR: just watch diamondbolts review on the series
if what I wrote was too sloppy

2.tfa:I love this show almost as much as prime if it had a 4th season the autobots were amazing the story was maybe even better than prime’s but the thing that keeps behind for me is the designs and the human villains all in all 9.7/10.

    3. BW: the show was different from other tf shows and was amazing it was dark funny and code of hero just puts it really high all in all 9.6/10

4.tf cyberverse I thought it was going to be crap but it pleasantly surprised me especially with s3 all in all 9.5/10

5.Bumblebee: the movie was fun likable characters the opening scene was amazing the villains were amazing
I had a smile through the whole thing the action was clear and amazing
Bumblebee was adorable and his relationship with Charlie was believable
All in all 9/10 best tf movie since the 1986 film

6.FoC: just an amazing game ( based on what I played) it was and the story was amazing all in all 9.9/10

    7. Last stand of the wreckers: James Roberts best story overlord was terrifying and I can’t put in words how much I love this story
    10/10 best transformers story ever

8.tftm1986 : this movie shocked me as a kid I thought it was going to be your generic kids movie but damn! Megatron blowing up Ironhide’s head up the spaceship massacre unicron death prime’s death it was amazing all in all 9.4/10

    What’s your favorite tf media

Honestly, my favorite TF stuff would have to be the Marvel G1/G2 comics (it gave us some really wonderful stories and a lot of great characters like Shockwave, Nightbeat, Bludgeon and Straxus), with G1 seasons three and four (for me, this still is the best stuff the G1 cartoon has to offer despite a few stinkers, it basically has my favorite versions of Hot Rod/Rodimus Prime and Arcee and it has my favorite G1 episode of all time in Ghost in the Machine, which features Starscream, who is my favorite Transformers character, and the Battlechargers, whom I always felt were criminally underused), Beast Machines (it gave us the Vehicons, the Vehicon Generals and a very chilling villain in Megatron), 2001 RiD (it gave us Sky-Byte, Side Burn, a very hilarious Megatron and some rather quirky humor) and IDW MTMTE (which introduced my favorite female Transformer in the form of Nautica).

A lot of people might bash on the Marvel G1 comics, but even with their flaws, they just have their charm and they really had some great plots. The only flaw it had was the constant character crowding, which left many characters without an ounce of development, but the ones that were developed really became memorable. Some of my favorite stories were things like Decepticon Graffiti (Battlecharger fan right here), Return to Cybertron (wonderful insight into how horrible things are going on Cybertron), the Matrix Quest saga (Nightbeat, hell yeah!!!) and the Underbase Saga (even though made to get rid of a lot of old characters, it featured some really awesome stuff like the Seacons and Starscream at his treacherous best).

    In no particular order...

    G1
    G2 comics
    Beast Wars
    Beast Machines
    Bay movies
    Animated
    WFC/FoC

That's the stuff I like. Nothing about the brand I particularly hate; the worst stuff I look at and say, "Meh."

Can I count the original animated movie by itself? Because my answer would definitely be that.

The Bumblebee movie might be my single favorite piece of Transformers entertainment. Not only does it capture basically everything I want in a Transformers story, it captures everything I want in a movie in general. Great characters, cool designs, funny humor, a simple story, an awesome soundtrack, a lot of room to breathe, and action that is used sparingly, but really knocks it out of the park when it finally hits. It's just a well-constructed bundle of fun rolled up into a Transformers package.

War for Cybertron is up there too. I've actually still never played the console version. But I do have fond memories of playing the DS version. As well as the toys. If it weren't for War for Cybertron, I very well might have drifted away from the brand in 2010. War for Cybertron might be what solidified my interest in the brand as a long-term thing. I saw the designs recently, and I still love them.

In fact, the latter half of 2010 really hit a home run for me. The Hunt for the Decepticons line was also fantastic. Between that, Generations, and WFC, I sort of consider that year the peak of the franchise. That was also the year Prime debuted. While I have mixed feelings on Prime, I do miss that level of production value. And that show does have a lot of great aspects. I honestly kind of want to revisit it soon.

Even though it's not technically great, I'll always have a soft spot for the G1 cartoon. It was my first piece of Transformers entertainment, and there's something special about it. It's the sort of show that just couldn't exist today, and I love it for that. It's wacky and bizarre at times. Probably still my favorite TF show.

Transformers: Animated is far and away my favorite piece of Transformers media.

It was genuinely a fun series, but it wasn't afraid of taking things seriously when it was necessary. It took elements and characters from previous iterations of the brand and reinterpreted them in new and interesting ways while still staying faithful to what came before. Optimus Prime the rookie space janitor doesn't seem faithful to the classic character at first glance, but he still embodied everything that made the character special. Animated didn't just rehash what came before; virtually every story it told, even if elements of it were borrowed, still had a unique spin to them. It introduced new characters that have surpassed the series and become staples of the franchise like Lockdown and Lugnut.

The series was also great when it came to storytelling and character development. Plot lines were given appropriate dramatic weight and built up over time, and their conclusions were always satisfying. As the story progressed, so did the characters. None of the characters are the same at the end of the series, and all of them are given ample time to shine and have interesting and unique character arcs. Even the Decepticons, who usually get sidelined in a Transformers series in favor of the Autobots, were still given interesting and entertaining characterizations. The series' version of Megatron, for instance, is one of the best takes on the character.

Even the art direction was well-done. I understand that the aesthetic is still unpopular with people, but the amount of detail and passion that went into the designs is truly outstanding. The designs manage to reference elements of previous Transformers series while still being unique and using them in their own ways. Optimus Prime, for example, has the windows of Star Convoy, and elements of his face are based on Optimus Primal. His design itself is also able to convey a lot about the character. His superhero build and somewhat pronounced chin tell the viewers that he is the hero, and virtually every character design informs you at least a little bit about the character.

It was clear that everyone working on Transformers: Animated loved what they were doing, and I think that only elevated the quality of the series. That's why it's my favorite piece of Transformers media, and I don't see that changing any time soon.

    EDIT: This too

I’ve said this in another thread, but the concept itself is probably the greatest part of the whole thing. Robots that hide in plain sight, disguised as vehicles and other everyday things. It’s that thought of “that could be a Transformer over there.”

Media-wise, my favorite show is Animated, my favorite of the movies is Bumblebee, and my favorite storytelling universe is the IDW 2005 continuity.

Animated had a fantastic cast of characters with stylish animation and a really well-crafted story, Bumblebee was everything a Transformers movie should be, full of heart and appreciation for the important elements of the franchise, and the original IDW comics took TF to a hardcore sci-fi territory that I loved to death. Seeing all the culture and politics of Cybertron and the Transformer race was extremely interesting and well-crafted.
