What’s your favorite Bat-suit that Batman has worn? From any medium, official or not, canon or not, professional or fanart. Just for fun. I always go back & forth but right now I’m really digging this one. Kinda just the classic look with some modern refinements.
Charts of Batsuit designs to help out. On the whole, I prefer the 80s-era Batsuits. Those suits were dark, brooding, intense, fearsome, which fit Batman's fear-inspiring persona. The yellow Bat insignia fits perfectly, being used as a place to shoot at and stands out on the suit.
I am a fan of Batman's batsuits in the Arkham video games. Specifically his upgraded ones featured in the main stories.
It's hard to pick an absolute favorite, but a big thing for me is longer ears, like on the original costume and any time Batman was drawn by Jim Aparo or Kelley Jones or Norm Breyfogle. Or Neal Adams. Or the Burton movies, or Bruce Timm cartoons. Or the Arkham games. I fucking hate the short ears like drawn by Frank Miller or Jim Lee.
@Gaastra Love the Bat horse! Of course it needs a mask! Lol never seen that before. Seems almost tame anymore with a Bat T-Rex running around.
The classic suit as it was drawn by Breyfogle. Long, tall ears, longer spiky extensions on gauntlets and a long and flowing cape.
For me, it would be the early Golden Age outfit, mainly the version around the original Mad Monk story (just needs the scallops on the gloves to be perfect). For me, I prefer a Batman more in the vein of a pulp masked villain, with devil designs (so long ears for me) as well as bat. Like something out of a pulp novel cover, except the typical bad guy's the hero! ...so it's only fitting my favorite DCAU outfit is the one from "Justice League"/JLU. ...and of course, I can;t help but love Bruce Timm's "Strange Days" special for the 75th anniversary.
As far as the more specialized/non-standard Batsuits go, my softest spot is for the sonar suit from the first "Batman vs. Predator": Even as a kid, I always preferred this one over the TDKR Bat-Armor.
I always like the ones with the yellow bat symbol on the chest more then the black bat on the grey suit
Speaking of pulps, Batman as he was originally created very closely resembles pulp character The Spider. Rich guy with fiance, ala Julie Madison, friends with the Commissioner, wore a "fright mask" to scare criminals, etc. The biggest difference being the Spider killed his enemies, but hey. I recommend the novels if you can find them. They used to be easy to download because they're in the public domain, but I'm not sure where to find them now.
