In 2012, what is your biggest disappointment to date? It could be a movie, a performance by an actor that was praised by fans and critics alike, a tv show or even a season of that show or even an action figure. What form of entertainment were you looking foward to, had you heard great things about and were expecting great stuff from only to be let down in spectacular fashion?

Like I said, a disappointment is something you had high expectations of and were expecting great things from. For example the TF movie in 2007 was, and still is an utter piece of garbage but it isn't a disappointemnt to me, everything I had heard, read and seen of that movie prior to it's release date suggested it would've been the absolute dog's arse it turned out to be!

Now that we've got that out of the way, my disappointment of 2012 was The Dark Knight Rises. For years ago, after I'd watched the legendary Dark Knight if someone told me I'd be watching it's sequel for years later and at the two hour mark I'd be like "I can't believe I have another hour or so to go, this is boring!" I would have been like "GTFO".

The utter and foul taste that movie left in my mouth was beyond belief! It was unecessarily long and convoluted or bloated as it has been described, how on earth no one could make the connection between batman disappearing for eight years and Bruce Wayne becoming a recluse within the same time frame still baffles me to no end.

Anne Hathaway's catwoman, although awesome, was a wholly irrelevant character that could have been easily written out of the movie and it would'nt have been affected in the slightest way, it's a batman movie, I didn't expect to see him every five minutes but certainly more that the five minutes of him we saw every hour or so. And finally the John blake character, up until the end when it was revealed whom he was I found it absolutely pointless to have focussed all the time, at those particular moments on some random non entitiy in the movie! If they had given the audience some hints or clues as to whom he was (or was going to be) it would have made all the airtime he got somewhat understandable but the fact they didn't just didn't sit too well with me.

All in all, in it's defense the more I see this movie the more I like it but, boy, I don't think I can ever forget how disappointed I was during and after I watched it. A far, far cry from the Dark Knight which is still the undisputed superhero movies of superhero movies, in my opinion.

What's your disappointment of 2012 in entertainment?

The Hobbit. I loved LotR, but found the Hobbit boring as hell, with way too much added in.

For me, I think it's Prometheus or Snow White and the Huntsman. Prometheus had a lot of potential and had some great stuff in it, but it also had a lot of dumb stuff and unanswered questions. I still liked it, but it didn't live up to its potential. The trailer for Snow White made it look awesome. The movie is enjoyable, but forgettable.

The Dark Knight Rises almost disappointed me, but I thought all the great things outweighed the negative ones. People like to hate on The Amazing Spider-man and I do see some of the problems, but I could watch that movie dozens of times and not get bored. I was looking forward to it and it lived up to what I expected it to be.

All the movies you guys mentioned were a disappointment, expect the Hobbit since I didn't see it.

Batman, too long for no reason. Cut an hour, it would have been tons better.

Avengers, also over rated. It was ok, but there was too much about it that I was not found of that I wont even go into here.

I will say that Spiderman, our of all of these let me down the most. I kept hearing about this newer, darker spiderman, and I got the same shit, with a weaker villain.

At least with Batman and the Avengers I still liked those movies, Spiderman I wouldn't recommend.

I am even more disappointed that I haven't been blown away by any movie this year.

I had highly anticipated this movie, and perhaps that was my problem - it didn't fit what I thought it should be, so I was let down. I'll give it another watch eventually I'm sure.

I hope you're talking about the movie - otherwise, pistols, ten paces, at dawn! :D

I'll echo the sentiments about TDNR, starting with the name. Lets just tack on Rises and call it good? I understand the "rises" theme, but I was hoping for more.

Specific complaints: it was too long, not enough Batman in the dark as he is meant to be, few and far between any entertaining action scenes, not enough gadgets, not enough Batman being smarter and tougher than everyone else. Compared to TDK, Rises was extraordinarily disappointing.

Not a damn soul is gonna know what I'm talking about, but Kamen Rider x Super Sentai: Super Hero Taisen.
Was the first major crossover between those two franchises in years, and it was terrible.

Transformers Prime season 2 was pretty disappointing. I don't think I have a "biggest" disappointment. I enjoyed most of the movies I watched because I only go to see a handful a year anyway.

You got that right. I don't think they could have made that film any worse barring a ballerina.

This year was a terrible year to be a gamer. Every game I played was disappointing in some aspect, and then there was a period of 6 months of absolutely nothing.

    Twisted Metal's single player sucked.
Silent Hill HD was full of glitches.
Silent Hill Downpour was crap and also filled with glitches.
Resident Evil Operation Raccoon city was utter garbage.
Resident Evil 6 was just as bad.
Assassin's Creed III was a giant glitchfest with one of the worst endings ever.
New Mario 2 was the same game I have been playing since the SNES
Hitman Absolution had a broken disguise system that was utterly useless and a story that was garbage.

Also, I went to see 32 movies in theater this year and only 11 of them were any good. Skyfall, Django Unchained, The Hobbit, The Dark Knight Rises, Prometheus, Ted, Brave, Wreck-It Ralph, The Avengers, Cabin in the Woods, and The Hunger Games were the only movies that ranged from good (Ted and HG) to amazing (Skyfall, Hobbit, TDKR).

I also agree about the whole Superhero Taisen thing. It was very disappointing. However, Garo Makai was also a let down.
