... an updated version of the '76 Camaro mode. I can't believe for all the dozens of Bumblebees we got, we didn't get a decent reshell of one of them with the more muscle car-y alt-mode. Granted, we didn't need another Bumblebee on the shelves, but I'd have preferred it to about half of the later Bumblebee variants that came out (all the RotF ones, for example)
yeah, that design was at least as good as what followed- quite possibly better and we only ever got one mediocre toy of it. As a side note the gold Lawsons version was completely worth the extra I paid for it. Paint helped that mold sooo much.
I'm not. Hasbro gained an acute phobia after the first movie of Bumblebee or Optimus repaints that were anything but yellow Bumblebees or red and blue Optimi.
I wonder if it has something to do with the licensing from GM/Chevy. They may have stipulated that after the TFTM '76 version, all the rest had to be the newest model. After all, they probably don't want to advertise a car they don't sell anymore. I do agree though, it would be nice to have at least one more '76 Camaro BB....maybe a Masterpiece?
Both still yellow and black. Just in a different pattern. I'm sure it has to do with licensing, at least somewhat. They probably didn't even have the license for it following the TF07 toyline, I'd wager.
YES. THAT all the way. I also would have liked the White Trans am from the ROTF game. That model was incredibly baddass.
I thought Battle Blades Bumblebee was one of the best deluxes ever, and I don't really like the movie toys that much
The original one wasn't terrible, it just had that defect. Luckily mine still hasn't broken. That said I'd be interested in an updated one as long as it was well done!
I actually prefer the '76 Camaro design over the new one, so I'm all for it! Deluxe class Jazz could also use an update.
I remember seeing that very first Bumblebee figure and thinking (wrongly as it turned out) that was how badly-translated all the BayFormers designs were going to be when going from screen to toy. In-hand though I found I kind liked the clunky little 70s bastard. That dodgy Automorph is always a worry though and I'm sure it turned many people off. I would certainly like to see a redo of that guy. That said, if done with today's Hasbro toy standards I'm thinking it would actually end up being a step backwards rather than an improvement.
Agreed. I would also love an updated/better engineered '76 Camaro... Also on that wish list would be a better deluxe Jazz.
I've been thinking the same thing, Human Alliance or Leader/Battle Ops would be great. Cyberverse with better articulation ala TFP Cyberverse Cliffjumper.
