My UK friends bought them at TRUs there back in December.

Same here. I live in scalperville. Sad, since Hasbro is in the same state.

Not a single MP 10 hit shelves here, either. It was in our RI sightings thread that workers at the local TRU actually never set them out and bought them to resell on ebay. Such crap.

 

I would actually be pissed if I saw this inferior version on shelves after never coming across the original - pissed because that would mean that Hasbro put more effort into making the version without Roller and Spike and the one with the more...eclectic color scheme available than the one that fans have been clamoring for for decades. That, or demand for the YOTH version will be far less...which I guess makes sense but I still feel like being pissed.

It's weird, even when they openly acknowledge that distribution for certain items suck (Archer admitting a few years back that he had to buy his MP Starscream on ebay), they still do nothing to remedy it - hell, they're coming out with a f'n Rainmaker and I've yet to see Starscream...and it's a new mold! In light of all this, you'd think it was time to revisit Screamer, wouldn't you???

Ughn, digressed again. I get that they find it not financially feasible to mass release MP's (though MP10 could be seen as the obvious exception...it's Thundercracker or Grimlock or Rodimus Prime; it's Optimus F'n Prime done right for the first time ever), but a larger production run, or given how quickly these flew off the shelves, a second or third run in non-shitty colors and without a clear f'n trailer would be appropriate. It's not like the first run of these are languishing on store shelves; they clearly did it right the first time and there's clearly still a huge demand. I'm just afraid that the shitty YOTH version won't sell as well, and Hasbro will see that as fans being no longer interested in the mold.

Thanks, man. After I'm done working today I might put up some dudes I'm willing to trade for a YOTH Prime. I want this dude baaaaad, but I just paid property taxes and I'd feel quilty shelling out so much cash on yet another Optimus for my collection - so I might try to see if I can go the trade route. As it is I have no version of MP-10.

 

It took almost 2 months for TRU mp-10s from 2012 to start shipping after they hit stores. Just saying...

 

That and if you don't see at local retail you'll still have your online order...I actually did see him at retail this past weekend in So Cal, had my wife get it for me for a Vday gift

Only spotted the YOTH Starscream at our TRU yesterday which I put on Layaway. I will be passing on the YOTH Prime sense I have the MP one from 2012.

 

Saw YOTH Starscream a lot of times and passed on it. IMO that thing is hideous.

Glad that I was able to fight off the scalpers and get the original Hasbro MP-10. That just looks ugly to me.

I talked to a friend of mine that works at a TRU and the system said these were not supposed to hit the streets till March 4th. So someone broke street date.

After seeing some of the video reviews last night I went from a maybe to angrily hunting on this one, especially since I missed out on MP-10 regular release.

 

And yet when Soundwave was put online, my order shipped the day after ordering. For those of you there during The Great Soundwave Online Release of 2013, you'll recall the ability to order was only available for I think an hour, maybe two, tops, and then intermittently thereafter.

I wish I had done the online thing with MP-10, but I was lucky and got him in a local TRU.

Yup. I was part of that party with Soundwave. My point was that it could take up to 2 months for it to arrive.

 

A whole hour? More like 26 minutes. I timed it, and it went up at like 4:13am for me. Work was a bitch for the rest of the day, but I got mine that Saturday and it was by far the best weekend of the Summer.

 

If the gold actually looked gold and not yellow highlighter on chrome.

 

Haha I was able to grab MP-10 online at the time but for MP SW I was able to grab one online from one of the times they listed him for almost an entire evening.

I did grab this YOTH Prime he doesn't look too shabby at all. I figure to complete the whole zodiac of Prime
