That looks amazing and hope the ones into model kits have a great time with it because god just looking at it causes me stress. Hope we see this amazing design in an actual mainline Voyager soon.

On the one hand I'd love to try my hand at building one of these, but man... all the little parts intimidate me.

If you guys think these models are like the older style, Testors or Revell Glue togethers, Model technology has come a LONG way. Most kits now are very easy to build, I find it to be a complete stress reliever for me. Usually with these new generation kits, all you need are some decent flush cut snips, and you can easily build the kits without glue. They are really designed.. to be built without glue. Some of us still glue spots we know are high traffic..but all in all..This is not like the old kits. These are like Assembling a High end action figure from the sprues.

And you get the satisfaction of knowing YOU built it, and you because you go thru the build process, you learn and see things on that model/Figure, that you would have never seen or noticed just by Buying it..

I agree - been doing a bunch of Bandai stuff since lockdown started, Star Wars and Gundams etc - the way they come together without glue is just *chefs kiss*. You'd think not having glue would make them fall apart easy too but no, once those main bulk sections are together they're not coming apart again without a knife or a spudger.

Echoing what Snake Eyes said, these models aren’t as intimidating as they seem. I definitely wouldn’t consider them entry level, but snap kits today are generally really well designed and straightforward to assemble. It’s more like building a Lego set, only you have to cut/pop the parts out and they only go together one way. :lol

HOLY SHEEEEIT did you see that video?!?!?!?!?

OMG so sold on this one. I have enough 3rd party Bee movie primes I was going to pass on the Prime Model..But now Im gunna buy both..This looks SICK. The layered detail we can get with a model kit will blow anything away that you can just buy.. I mean..WOW that looks good!!!

I really want this but I really don't know if I want to a. spend that much again, ($260 Cnd from ShowZ due to conversion) or b. spend that much time. (though having built Optimus I think this'll probably go faster for me now)

The detail is incredible and I like how Shockwave shows off some of what was covered on Optimus whilst hiding stuff that he had visible to further distinguish them. I do wonder if I'd be tempted to paint the purple on this. Optimus' red looked okay in person but I feel like Shockwave would look even better fully painted. Also at least he comes with the LED this time.

EDIT: Holy shit the LED even has two levels of intensity. Yolopark absolutely wants people to stop-motion this guy and use the LED to sync up to dialogue. :D

It's cool how you also end up constructing his cannon cable. Opting for the individual pieces for his smaller cables (that are attached to the larger one) instead of just molding them as part of one big piece is a nice touch.

    300mm (11.8in) according to Yolopark's site.

Those clean silver thighs make me realize how much better BingoToys shockwave would have looked without the nasty yellowed paint we got.

i’m so tempted to pair him up with plamo prime, but the thought of rebuilding ~70% of the same figure is a major detractor. it also sucks that he’s $40 more than prime on showz.

iies prime is also coming sometime soon so i’m not sure whether i want the redundancy of keeping both iies and plamo; one will have to go. maybe i’ll decide then when i have both in hand, and get shockwave if i keep plamo prime

Yeah, I'm in the same boat. He looks amazing but I don't want to essentially build the same thing again. I hope they have other non-Optimus frames planned.

Hell, I'm STILL waiting on the Yolopark Optimus Prime from BigBadToyStore. I ordered it like 3 months ago.
