You CAN paint them, but these kits are made to be displayed as is too considering they already do have some paint applications. Also, seeing this is not a traditional model kit with runners, it's going to be harder to paint in general. With a normal model kit, the pieces are separated so you can paint each piece before putting them together. With this, you're going to have to work around all of the layers or figure out how to take it apart. If you're just trying to do accents though, it should be fine.

 

I'm hoping at least the car/armor parts can be removed to paint, and the underskeleton can just be sprayed gunmetal and accented with brush metallics.

 

Hmmm, for that price I'm definitely not going all in right away. May just start with Primal.

 

I forget how caked up this Prime design is. He has some wide thighs.

These kits are looking surprisingly better every time they show an update. Very nice. 

 

If someone lives in the United States, where is the best place to pre-order these to get them in a timely manner? I pre-ordered my Yolopark Earth Mode Optimus Prime model kit from BigBadToyStore, and it arrived just fine, but it took FOREVER for them to get it in stock.

No. Just, no, for this Bee. It got more munke proportion than Primal, I hoped for better but these high res photos make it look even worse. Yolopark can't do a lazier job for the optics unless they didn't have any CGI/Concept art reference at all. Primal & OP are OK though.

But I prefer traditional model kits, not these "action figures with some assembly required" kits. Not a big deal, I can undestand it's far more popular (and probably takes less time to develop) for the Western market.

 

If his standee is anything to go by, he's lanky but not to the extent of the model kit.

My guess is they are being hit with a specular highlight which deceptively make them appear white instead of black.

 

Please let this be a friggin' proto/test shot and we're not expected to paint the tires ourselves.

It's really the arms. The model looks fairly accurate everywhere else, but the arms are too long, they throw everything off.

 

I think they elongated his elbow joint so it can allow for deeper bends.

 

I think they made the mistake of making his fist reach his knees when in reality his fingertips reach his knees. I'm thinking about the tube area under the elbow might be the cause of all this. If there's a way to chop and shorten that, to get it replaced it would probably fix the proportions a bit

 

My issues with it is the overlong arms. I think if the shoulders can be pushed up just a bit above the top of the wheels behind them then Bee'll be fine.
