Great, but I'm a little disappointed, I was hoping this would be figures we hadn't heard of yet.

 

I'm down for the new character toys. And Ratbat for the lulz.

 

I'd brace your self for this to be the last of them, Rodimus was cited in the most recent Q & A as being the last animated deluxe to see release in 2009.  

 

Didn't kickback say that there was at least one more new mold voyager?
It was bleeped out in one of the podcasts.

 

Right. And Rodimus is listed as a deluxe.

I thought Kickback said something about Rodimus or Blackout being the second to last new mold of 2009.

 

Considering that Rodimus isn't part of Blackout's wave and that we're yet to hear about the Bulkhead repaint...

I'll be guessing that there's one more wave after Blackout wave.

 

I guess I hadn't thought of that. I myself can relate to that as I unfortunately missed out on purchasing Movie Blackout. Thankfully I've been given a second chance now that an Animated Blackout is in the works.

 

News to me, good news!  

 

Hasbro did say they would be dishing out a few more Animated toys throughout 2009. And as far as I'm concerned, we're getting Omega Supreme one way or another. With Animated on the way out, it would be silly of Hasbro not to throw us one final bone. The Constructicons are a given as well. Right?

 

Wrong. Nothing's a given, even these listings.

Hell, I have Activators Cliffjumper on my keyboard right now and part of me doubts it's real.

 

Unfortunately, Transformers (like most toy lines) is mostly a kids line. I'm sure Hasbro would be happy to tell you that they'll sell a lot more copies of a 3rd or 4th version of someone like Bumblebee, Anakin Skywalker, Optimus Prime, or Wolverine than they would of a first version of some of the more obscure characters.

Next time you see some new wave coming out with yet another version of Bumblebee or Darth Vader in it instead of some obscure Autobot like Mainframe or some random alien from Jabba's Palace who was onscreen for less than a millisecond, that's why. Kids just love Bumblebee and Darth Vader more.

Of course, Hasbro could put out all those obscure requests at once, instead of mixing in some popular figures, but you can guess what would happen. There'd be a ton of pegwarmers, and pretty soon we wouldn't get any Transformers at all.

 

Color me intrigued. I've always wanted to say that

IF these come out, then YAY! It's nice to know these figures won't be canceled, assuming everything comes off without a hitch. I'll wait and see how things turn out though before I make room for Arcee, Hot Rod and Blackout on my shelves...
