This is true, but when deciding whether or not to invest in a set you're basically saying we should wait until the whole set is out to ensure they all scale as advertised.
Which I will do for any XTB releases from now on.

 

Watching Bobby Skullaface s review it doesn't look that small and tiny for me now.

 

Let's be honest, he's stood next to the widest carbot mould too. Not had the mp12 mould for ages, I always forget it's rather....broad.

 

So is there supposed to be an official method of measuring a figure's height? Measure to the shoulders, measure to the top of the head, measure to the eye? Do rocket launchers and stuff count towards height? So many of these figures have bizarre proportions like the way Menasor's shoulders stick way the hell up above his head. Star Saber has his antenna which stick way up above the top of his head. Looks like Jocund/Groove fits in with MP carbots. Top of his head is a fraction of an inch lower, but his backpack/windscreen is a fraction of an inch higher. Even within all the same height/all different heights there seems to be no winning as "same height" can now mean either total figure height or eye-line height. I think Jocond is looking good, the PO is paid off, and can't wait for him to ship now.

 

If that's what you're getting out of my comments that's cool. I'm a generalist when it comes to scale; as long as my bots are generally looking good relative to each other I'm fine. If you're the type of collector who cares about scale down to the centimeter then, yeah, you should probably wait.

 

Not at all. It's one of the reasons I think nitpicking scale is silly. The other main reason is that scale as it was presented in the animation was all over the damn map.

I know I want my carbots small than Prime and I know I want my Dinobots to be big and beefy and I know I want my combiners to be huge. The rest is just details.

 

We knew FT cars had carbot size alt modes and supertall and thin bot modes from the beginning, we saw pics of DX9 cars with Starscream and Megatron soon so we knew they were tall too, we knew the size of MMC combaticons from renders and pics, we know MMC protectobots limbs are about the same size, just small differences between them. When XTB wants, they show their prototypes and pics with other figures, that way we could see, for example, the size of Klaatu and Neptune far before release, and they have let us know First Aid is Ironhide size. But in the cases of the photoshoped stunticons and Jocund promo they did not want to show the size for a reason, probably us, the scale bitches.

Right, XTB is not absurd FT and we can wait for reviews and then buy. Just wanted to point that there are specific cases when they hide the size if they think it may be controversial for worse. If that makes me a conspiracy theorist, I'm guilty as hell.

 

According to Omegalock First Aid will come out December 2022!!! That's going to be a lllloonngg wait.

 

Yeah, but Jocund isn't apparently coming until May...but their stock is due this week. Don't put any stock in that as an actual ETA

Someone actually asked Omegalock about the date. Personally I can believe it. There are like 20/25 releases from XTB/KFC to get through before this

 

Heres the thing, depends on if they release Hotspot before or after First Aid. If Hotspot is before First Aid, then I totally see it but if he's afterwards then I doubt the 12/22 release date and It will probably be more like Summer around the same time as Magnus.

 

I can believe it too. We still have Magnus, Perceptor, Runabout/Runamuck, a few more Stunticon repaints, the Omnibots, the eight or so Ombnibot repaints, nand of course all the repaints of their Minibots..

I’ve never seen a single 3P company release so many figures in a year.

 

You missed out the most important one: The awesome looking MP scaled Deathsaurus that absolutely needs to be in my collection as soon as bloody possible!

Seriously though: I get that they're trying to drum up interest after the Locke debacle, but quality over quantity, eh lads?

 

They might even release the repaints of the Protectobots before they release the rest of the Protectobots
