It's pretty faithful to the 1986 version so I would say no, nothing really new

 

Ironically this is the 3rd company now to do the Quint's.

 

Yeah but the others are chug scale and I collect MPs, so this is the first one that works for me.

 

Actually one is chug scale, one legends and with this MP Quintessons will have infiltrated every scale of the franchise.
I think a moderate chuckle is in order.

Yeah that's true. Any company doing a new chug Quintesson collection would be greatly appreciated.

 

I don't pay much attention the the Hasbro toy aisle stuff. I'm sure if the MP line didn't exist I might, but they just aren't my thing outside of the Titans (metroplex, ft & grand max).

 

Legends size...

 

Any more prototype pics with color or an estimated release date? I hope they are reasonably priced for a non-transforming figure.

In the second image, they sit at around the same height at the shoulder. And in the first, Prime is in the foreground to the other two. He would inherently look larger if drawn properly.

Look at how Batman would tower over Batman of not given the understanding of distance:


We really need to stop using inconsistent screen captures as references for height, design aesthetics and a guideline to what "makes a masterpiece".

you can both be smartarses all you like alpha trion was depicted as a little old man not a tall warrior like prime he was not the same size

 

In my head cannon scaling he's about the size of Ratchet and such.
Seems about right for the Trion.

 

Odd that you immediately went to smart ass rather than counterpoint. More so that you appear offended that someone countered your opinion when you're the one who opened the discussion by countering mine. But that's your problem, not mine to worry over.

You, however, chose to interpret those images as something they are not. Again, in that second image, Alpha Trion stands about as close to Prime as he can and, in that image, their shoulders are level to one another. How you read that as Alpha Trion being shorter than Prime, I do not know. Perhaps, because the top of Prime's shoulder is visible you think, "he must be taller". But that's not understanding that the angle of the overhead position of the "camera" makes his shoulder visible along with the top of their heads.

Either way, I stand by the mindset that using the cartoon for any sort of height or scale reference is bad.

And how you seemingly equate "old" to "short" is also interesting. He certainly doesn't seem withered despite his age.

Now, you may have a personal preference that Alpha Trion be shorter than Optimus Prime. That's great. You hold on to that all you want. I want him to be Prime height and I didn't reference bad animation to make up my mind on that.

 

Well now...I too had the impression the old man was shorter, but....He is not. If you watch WarDawn, they are pretty much the same height. As well in Season 3 he is about Rodimus size so.....Its odd, considering the old man was a first generation of Cybertronian non transforming robot.....
