Since I didn't see a thread for this, I thought I’d make a thread for Nintendo’s best game for the Switch.

I know there is a thread for XCX; but since this is a separate game, I think a separate might be better.

Do to the 2 in the name, this game could be a sequel to the original Xenoblade Chronicles.

Might be a good idea to spoiler any details from previous games just in case.

 

For me this was the highlight of the Switch conference. I bought Xenoblade on release day, tried it and hated the load times so I put it aside and didn't get around to playing it again until sometime in 2015. I was very glad that I went back to it as it's one of my favourite rpg's I have played since the PS1 days. When XCX was announced I was hoping it would be more of the same but I got about 17 hours in and couldn't be bothered with it anymore.

Once I saw the reveal trailer for XC2 I was excited and relieved because it's going back to what I loved so much about the original. The icing on the cake was when my brother told me that the composer from the first Xenoblade is back. A game like Xenoblade is a system seller for me just as much as any Zelda game and more than a Mario one.

 

Dude.. Seriously? Maybe I'm seriously mis-remembering, but the load times in Xenoblade were tiny, especially compared to PS1/2/3 games.

Not feeling this one....I kind of preferred the character designs and combat elements from XCX a little more than the original game, and this one seems to follow suit with the original.

 

Well, XCX was more scifi than fantasy. The original and this have more a fantasy setting to them.

Game is set to come out December 1st.

 

The Direct made me damn excited for this game when I hadn’t been paying attention to it all year. I still have to get into the original though, it’s been mostly untouched on my 3DS up until now.

While Rex’s face certainly looks improved now, I can’t help but feel the lighting in the first screenshot sets the mood better.

love when a company gets big enough that they feel that they don't have to compete and cut all their perks.

 

I already started my preorder with Gamestop for the limited edition. At least this one shouldn't end up being like what happened with the XCX limited edition.

Where Pyra is being held reminds me of the place where Shulk was found with the Monado.

Also, there is a Rex costume coming to Breath of the Wild in two days.

 

Going to pick this game up after I get off and start playing it when I get home. Can't wait to explore this new world.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2

We're all gonna have to help each other out a bit in this game as there's no:

• Guide coming out for it
• In-game encyclopedia
• Way to repeat the in-game tutorials

Well picked up my copy...wont be able to play it til tonight but it'll be perfect since i gotta stay up anyways.

The game was delivered yesterday and I just got the controller delivered today.
