To make a long story short, I some how ended up with a 300.oo cash card for Costco. I didn't like the idea of carrying one of those around, fearing with my luck I'd lose it. So I took some rainy-day cash along with the card, and picked up a Xbox360. I have some friends that are going to "talk me through stuff"... quite literally.. once I set up my liveaccount (in a week or two). But I was wondering. Being a loyal PS fan since 1998 (...e.e; ten years ago) I haven't played any other system with the exception of the different gameboys and any Nintedo system that came out before 98 (NES, SNES, and N64). So.. enlighten me, what's the extra goodies? is the HDDVD player extension worth it...will it kill the Xbox over time..? What are some sweet games.. I like shooters, free roaming games (like Spyro, Jak, Ratchet and Clank, ect,), RPGs, and survival horror D SH5!)... and then there's this whole mystery to me.. I don't need a memory card o.o (MADNESS)?!...What do I do when the HD runs out of space? As for games I have: Halo3 Call of Duty 4 Transformers (...Cybertron level. There's nothing like beating the crap out of drones as Megatron when you're sobering up during the wee hours of New Years Day <3. I wish this game had a live option.. 8( fighting head on with some of you and my friends as the TFs would sweet.)
I've not firsthand experience, but I've heard very good things about it. And no, it won't "kill the x-box over time" as it's plugged into the 'box through USB. If you want a kick ass RPG with shooter elements, grab Mass Effect. There's also some good games like Assassin's Creed, Crackdown, Dead Rising....etc. Don't forget, quite a lot of games have demo's you can download through X-Box Live. Do you have the 20gb HD? or the 120gb? If the 20, you can upgrade to the 120. If the 120, then you can just delete stuff to make more room.
RPG wise I would recomend Blue Dragon, Eternal Sonata, and Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. And don't forget the full games, I completely recomend Pac-Man Championship Edition and Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix. Or if you have the know how you can upgrade the 20 with a 120 yourself.
Crackdown, buy it used for $20 Game I'm playing right now, The Godfather. I love this game. GTA gameplay in a gangster enviroment. I can't stop playing it. I pisses my wife off Another thing I would suggest, is to join Gamefly. I very rarely have extra cash to buy games, so I joined Gamefly cause its cheaper than buying a $60 game. I pay $16 a month for 1 game out at a time. I have a link in my sig for them, if I get 5 people to join on my friends list, supposely they'll send me a DS Lite. I want to see if its true.
Nuh uh, says the guy who hasn't played Halo in almost two months and is digging into other cool sleepers, and revisiting Oblivion. But I will say that Mass Effect and Bioshock are a trip out of the typical FPS BS that has almost become annoyingly over populated.
Call of Duty 4, Halo 3, and Gears of War. Also you can attach a USB drive (external or thumb drive) to your 360 and watch Divx movies, play music, and all that good stuff.
Educate? Hmm. 'Once upon a time there was a man named Bill. Bit of a geek, but wanted to be king of the hill. So he conquered the world with computers and stuff, But those computers alone just weren't enough. Spying those Asians with a jealous gleam, Old bill quickly set up his Xbox team. Trying to steal their thunder he hired 'DEVELOPERS' guy. But he was no good, got fired and had to go cry. A few years on Bill unveils his Xbox Three Sixty, Pack filled with features it was really quite nifty. Lack of HDMI and HD-DVD hurt sales at first, Then when PS3 came out made it look worse. So these 360's old Bill sells more than just one, Now so many types to choose under the sun. Which leads to today, where XBOXLive is great, except its filled with homophobe nine year olds you want to berate. But use of the mute function will improve your playtime, But I'm guessing right now you're sick of these rhymes...
Hey. Hey. I wasn't fired. I was made 'redundant'. *Sniff*. *WWWWWWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH*
I was happily reading all the info and games (thanks guys! very much appreciated! For the record; I have a 20gbhd. I'll be upgrading sooner or later.) ..and then stumbled upon your reply. :{ Your poem broke my brain. Or what's left of it. It was like cruising nicely down a highway only to have a semi (...haha) pull out in front of me and me slamming into the cab.
Best Buy had Bioshock for 44.99 last I checked, which was a week ago. Xmas sale, possibly, but worth a look. For a game like that, it's a steal. Hey, so as to not start a whole 'nother thread for one quick Xbox question. I heard that TRON Arcade was coming to Live (or was already there), but I didn't see it anywhere. Anyone know if this is true? TRON is hands down my favorite arcade, and coupled with the dual stick it would be a FUN port.
