So like current gen, where people were calling themselves PS Wii or Wii 60 gamers, if I buy all three next gen consoles (one I already have), that'll make me the ONE 4 U ....

Xbox One uses non-removable hard drive, supports external USB storage | Joystiq

I was talking about having them stored on the HDD, not a total collection count. I've never been in a position where I'm jumping between more than 4 or more games.

The Xbox One just keeps on sounding even more pathetic every second.

But this was not a small event. It was advertised well in advance and it even ran for an hour long, and even commercial-free on TV. At best I think MS was expecting hype from this into E3. Instead the exact opposite has happened. And judging by Nintendo's past, if they're not showing games yet, it is because the games are not ready to be shown yet. Microsoft has a few weeks to get their shit together, but the damage is done in the core community. And honestly, games might not fix these core issues with the design/use of the console itself. They need to fix the everything with how the console OS works with the games you purchase.

I haven't been able to review the reveal, no time. :(  Can someone summarise?

The only bit I did catch was the resale of games... probably MS have worked a system where you can resell games, but only by selling it back to MS where they sell it on themselves.

Ie I think they're sewing up the entire second hand market for themselves... my speculation obviously, and apologies if someone else has already said it, but as I said, haven't reviewed the reveal yesterday.

Of course EA was there though, they're the second biggest money grabbers next to Microsoft at this point.

    I LOL'd.

Ugh. Given that two of my friends and I regularly lend games to each other and rent from the video store, that hurts a lot.

I'm also hearing now that there won't be backwards compatibility with 360 games? If so, that certainly torpedoes it further.

I guess I'll be sticking to the 360 and when the time comes (I haven't bought a first release system in ages; my Xbox 360 is a slim, the PS2 is a slim), I'll probably go to the Wii U. I don't play the Wii as much as I thought I would, but I still play it, so at least it won't be such a jump.

I'm reading that it won't do 360 disc games or 360 XBLA games.

....I think it's safe to say at this point, based on all the points covered here, that any money of mine that may have gone towards the XboxOne, are now going towards a new HD7970 and dumping another 16GB into my PC (mainly because RAM is cheap so 'why not'?) instead.

Sorry MS, this could have been glorious, but alas :(

    Full 35 Minutes Launch Event:

XBOX ONE Reveal Event In HD (35 minutes) May 21, 2013 - YouTube

Sorry if anyone posted this before. And since this is my first post in this thread, I have to just say that I am utterly dissapointed. I was actually thinking of getting this new one but as soon as I watched that launch event, I scrapped the idea. Also, they probably ripped off the name from the HTC One.

Yup I had assumed the "fee" would always be full retail. They are doing exactly what software applications do now and charging by seat/license. Every additional seat is another full price software license.
