This shouldn't surprise anyone. Microsoft will not be denied in any media category.

I'll wait and see what games they give it. I enjoy my PSP but it has a very limited selection of games compared to the PS2. I only own three X-Box games, Halo 2, Ninja Gaiden and Stubbs. So I shudder at the thought of buying an X-Box handheld because I'll most likely get no games for it.

I'm imagining something the size of a dvd box except three times as thick with a screen the size of the PSP's.

I'm not going to by one of the new portables until I see something that assures me I will spend time playing it other than the time that I am sitting on the john. Seeing as the PSP is basically a GBA with much better graphics, and this MS handheld will probably be the exact same way, I think the DS is the only handheld that I have any interest in getting.

Is this a new one? I thought I read about another handheld Microsoft was workig on that's really just a portable PC. I think I'm confused. Wait, I know I'm confused.

Ugh, like we really need more portables out there. I'm sticking with my PSP. I think if I started begging for another handheld my wife would kill me. That and I was never that fond of the Xbox games. *shrugs* I'm an odd duck.

I have *quite* high hopes for this one, games line up might be solid. Hopefully, MS will put a DECENT browser in it, and make it possible to use a mobile phone with it as a modem - the browser in the PSP is pretty clumsy.

Ultimately tho, i think Nintendo will keep winning the handheld wars becasue of one thing.

    Low cost.

There seems little chance of MS matching them in that regard.

You answered your own question - this is annother one.

It'll be the first foot-long six-inch-thick twenty-pound "hand held" game system. But at least it'll be bulletproof.

At the risk of, er, dragging this thing back on-topic--I never had an Atari Lynx--I think I am vastly uninterested in any Xbox handheld. I have a 360 and so far, the only thing that still justifies its existence is Elder Scrolls 4. Which you can also buy for PC. I'm not interested in wasting $60 on the likes of Full Auto now, and I don't think that will be any different for a handheld.

Of course, that could change. I hated the PSP when it first came out, but Capcom seems to be pumping out some cool stuff for it now, and downloading PS1 games for a portable seems like a cool idea (if it actually works). But I already own (and love) the DS, and I'm still planning on getting a PSP. A third handheld seems kind of redundant.

OMG!!1!1one11! Go buy G.R.A.W. right now. That'll justify your 360 up real nice.

I dont think MS would have a shot in hell at it. If the Playstation brand can't dethrone Nintendo's handhelds, the Xbox brand has no chance at all.. Unless Microsoft feels like loosing 4 more billion dollars or something.
