I think you convinced me into buying this. I can live with the face (until a replacement comes in), but it looks like an amazing Skyfire otherwise.

 

It really is. I'm even more enamored with the thing AFTER having reviewed it which honestly doesn't happen often. I don't know where it'll rank on my TOP TFs of the year list but it's definitely my "sleeper" of the and by far my favorite Jetfire figure (face withstanding) ever regardless of size class. It's literally more Gokin than a lot of Gokin figures, well made, outside of the face great looking, awesome articulation, cool weapons, fun transformation, etc. etc.. If it weren't for the face and the the connection between the battery holster and neck, I would have EASILY given this a 10/10. I think classics collectors especially are missing out if they don't give this one a go.

This one looks surprisingly good. I kind of dismissed it since I'm mostly an MP kinda guy now - but man, those pics make him look pretty nice.

I can't resist X2 Toys. They really know what I like.
I really haven't missed much of their releases and this is one of them.
Needs a black repaint and maybe another color. Definitely worth collecting more than one of these.

 

That's an interesting transformation scheme. Still pretty simple by the looks of things, but also doing things you normally wouldn't expect for a figure like this.

 

I think another thing that needs to be added is that part of what impresses me so much about this piece is that (minus maybe the diecast) it's exactly what I wish the official classics line WOULD HAVE evolved to. Even @cabutler 's statement about the transformation hits it on the head.

 

I particularly like the way the wings fold up into the backpack to give him Skyfire's wingtips-out-of-the-backpack look.

well, the figure feels amazing, but the magnet was off center (can i just break it off and re-glue it?) and the pin on a wing was missing! otherwise, im impressed so far. just wish my QC luck hadn't happened on this figure

 

He scales nice to G1/Classics. Got an MP Inferno landing Friday or early next week to replace face and gotta do something about those guns. Not at all accurate.Top shelf figure otherwise!

I just got my copy today. No QC issues, but man, that face. Who ever thought that was a good look for the face needs a talking to.

Otherwise, wow, this is a pretty impressive figure. There's a lot of weight to it, which is nice for stability, and aside from the face, has a great look in both robot and alt-modes. I'm not a fan of the other modes, to be honest.

Still, something worthwhile for your CHUG collection. And now I can display a Jetfire and Skyfire on my shelf.
