...those new figures are remarkably impressive!..i swear these guys are going to get me back into headmasters despite my longstanding scoffance for the general concept since its introduction in '87...

 

These are insane! I’ll take 30 to replace all the stiffies.

 

Can these be bought?

 

The headmaster is meant to replace the one that came with their Skyfire. Maybe they’ll release a version that can be used to replace the stock TR headmasters. They’ve been taking their sweet time on these little figures so who knows if or when that will happen.


Edit: On second look it might be possible that this headmaster is compatible with TR faces. The chest looks like it could be a separate piece from the torso that might cover a screw hole. That would be cool. Well have to wait and see.

Not yet. Been waiting for them to release these but so far only the little Diaclone-like guys have only been a single packed with their Skyfire and I think their deluxe Optimus.

The white and black one is the headmaster that was originally included with X2 Toys’ Skyfire.

How would these guys measure up next to TFC’s STComander?

 

Well, dang; now I want to want their Skyfire.

 

Got mine and finally assembled them after two attempts. The tips of my thumbs and forefingers are now bruised...



They’re cool little dudes except the left knee on the black and green bots pop out freely. It’s a defect in the thigh joint because the shins are swappable. The red figure is tight all over for some reason.

Test pilots come with little inch square bases and mini magnets to glue into the base and each foot. There’s also a sheet of stickers with each that is fairly random and low key.



Here’s where I bought from if they interest you but heed my warning on the loose knee. It kinda pops out during movement rather than slides out.

Oh and you’ll have to clean them up, lots of plastic bits from the sprongs which end up on the ball joint. I have a serrated pocket knife that I use on the ball joints by going over them with the varying half-circle cutouts on the serration.

Lastly, the hands go all the way through and should be able to hold things since all the joints are tight. I think the prime master guns and such should fit but I haven’t dug anyone out to test since I just moved.

Wait can you put Titan Master faces on these?

 

They seem to be a bit large and they have a little knob on each shoulder which would probably need removed.

I’ll pull out a titan master face and weapon in a few to see if they fit.
