This is what ShowZ had to say on FB about the delay.

Question is, how long of a delay?

More worrying is that they're saying that it's made in the same factory as Locke - didn't XTB say that springer was being made in one of their own factories?

No, the new Locke is being done in the factory that was going to do Virtus. Not the other way around.

So, how many months are we guessing the delay could be? I'm going with at least 3-6. Sucky thing is I can't cancel my pre-order or i'll lose the price I got on him.

My guess? Two months, tops. They've already lost out on the first batches of Locke and are likely only trying to salvage those at this point. If they spend another 6-12 months trying to salvage things, it's just a further loss. I'm speaking out of school here, but my impression is that once a product has been released and largely underwhelms, you don't wait another year or two to continue racking up bad faith and further returns/cancelations.

I think that Locke will get his re-release fast; it's the following Virtus and Eligos releases which I think are the issue. Virtus, I've never expected before April. Now, I'd bet that it's more likely May-June. But any issues from there or any other plans they have are probably going to push Eligos further and further back, and if you're XTB and you're trying to maneuver around any FansToys reissues, the plan is likely to be to either release it right away to stem the tide of new FT orders placed by hurried customers or to wait a few months and just let them punch themselves out and then, you step in and hope that anybody who bought the competitors' options has reloaded and is ready to get yours too.

    That is pure speculation though.

A find it interesting that they can't run more than one production line at once in the factory, you'd think they would try getting more than one at a time done. Must be a really small operation.

I’m not even sure that they couldn’t as much as it not being cost-effective. If you only have the number of employees you need to operate, you’re either going to be selling two products which likely eat into each other’s markets or in cases like this, you’re going to be hiring contractors, new employees or outsourcing.

And the KO issues are probably bad enough without saying “Let’s get 200 new people who will only work here for three months and have little incentive to not rip us off to look at our schematics and materials.”

From what I've learned from reading threads and what not this is just a side gig and not nearly as profitable as what the factories are usually making, even for the rare companies that own there own factories.

Exactly my thought. I took the delay as them putting down time to fix Kup, and I totally get it. Thing was a disaster and XTB wants to mitigate their loss and try to turn things around while they still can.

I honestly don't care how long it takes, if Locke comes back and is up to par, i'll be getting him. Keeping my Virtus PO in but i'm now even more glad that I have the safety net that is 2 Apaches and Saltus Alternative.

It sounds like we’re in a similar boat. I’ve got Locke (in one piece) and have Virtus and Eligos preordered, and while I’m not trying to throw a tantrum every time something goes wrong, I’m also not going to be placing any orders for their stuff until it’s released and in someone’s hands.

Ah, it sucks that this is delayed. I preordered this so long ago that its still 129usd in my stack. I was hoping it would come out before the MMC reissue so I can get some reviews before I commit.

Meant to mention Eligos as well. Pretty much all in at this point, haha.

And trust me, I know you aren't. With stuff like this, never hurts to stay adamant and wait till reviews come out.

thought it's been mentioned multiple times before that the transformers are a bit side-business. They may not have the space simply because they are producing things....not transformer
