That would certainly help, but more importantly for more, on their Powerglide (really want that character on my shelf)

Damn, that is cool. Really wish they included Alana (humanoid or robot) in addition (or another version more expensive with her), or as an upgrade / solo.... no one is doing it :(

I think this looks pretty good. XTB generally does a good job with their minibot designs; I'm not too keen on their Trailbreaker/Hoist though. I like that, more than any of the other options, this feels so reminiscent of the toy. I still prefer FT's version, and not only on aesthetics, but if FT's didn't exist I'd probably go with this one. The TW one does nothing for me as it goes the "chubby" path. I prefer something that more reflects a cleaned-up version of the toy. They need to work on actually getting product out and communicating. I've never owned a XTB figure so I can't comment on their QC but I think their reputation is well known.

I'm glad we're being given a lot of options for Seaspray, since there seem to be so many who want a version that is as close to the G1 'toon as possible. I would be disappointed if all the companies took that approach. As a kid I watched the show every day after school and loved it, but I've never considered it to be the final, unassailable authority on what the characters look like. Whether some of the questionable aspects of certain character models are the result of thoughtful, considered deliberation, cheap and sloppy budget-basement animation, or a little bit of both, there's more to G1 than the cartoon. I like a lot of IDW's designs but most of those would feel out of place in a G1 collection, whereas Studio Ox-based designs would not.

That said, I understand that since the cartoon was the most widely consumed G1 media, "that's it" for many people.

Hoping a sample will be available for review soon. The look of this guy is probably the best of the versions currently announced and shown, but KFC/XTB hasn't impressed me lately w/their QC, so I'll remain cautiously optimistic.

I love their take on him. I get he's not comic or toon accurate, but i'm glad XTB strayed from that design... he looks (IMHO) dopey in those versions.

It's sweet there are versions for all tastes!

Great price, shame shipping to Australia is $20 or more.
Anyone able to recommend somewhere with cost effective shipping to Aus? (no longer ordering from Premium Collectables)
TFDirect seems to have pretty good shipping prices though not up for pre-order with them yet.

Wow, that price! That definitely makes choosing between this and Toyworld's more difficult.
Maybe I'll get both along with FT's and make an army. :p

I'm gonna say I really like the way he leans forward. It gives him a quirky charm.

If domestic shops are selling it for $55-$59 before shipping then it'll be even less on ebay.

For me XTB has been hit or miss, but with their mini-bots I haven't had any issues, plus this guy looks a lot better than FT's. I think FT's version looks too heroic. I've never seen Seaspray as being of heroic proportions.

To be fair while xtb\kfc visually knock it out of the park every time, their QC let's them down time and again they could rule the 3rd party world if only they could sort that out
