KFC's Stratotanker (Octane) is up for preorder but not the others from XTB.

I bent a tab on a door on my first transformation on Arkose. As aesthetically pleasing as he is, I feel like the technical design of it isn't suited for smaller figures.

All my XTBs are V2 so I haven't had much issue. I am just venting for the brave ones that buy the v1 - it's a lottery.

Call me when we actually know what it looks like. That said, I need an MP Seaspray in my life.

But first... 2.0 fixed versions of all of their less than stellar previous releases. So... 2030 may actually be a very generous estimate. Maybe more likely set to align with the Apocalypse.

I broke my no XTB preorder rule with their Cosmos, Hubcap, and cliff jumper and now I'm wondering if I should reconsider. XTB figures look great but the fact that they can't get everything right on the first try keeps them out of my upper echelon of 3p company's.

Will stick with FT, most likely. Xtransbots is always a second choice to FT on my shelf. Nice to see Seaspray getting some MP love regardless.

If this looks better than FT, it will still be the worst quality Seaspray ever, but FT will look like a hunk of brick, make up your mind, a brick or a glass statue? Let me know after they have release version 3, might interest me.

By these responses I think it is safe to say that XTB's reputation, particularly for minibots, has finally caught up to them.

    It's a Nemesis repaint.
I'm more concerned by the lack of surface detailing. Even Takara's cartoon focused designs have more detail than these.

I don't know about that their reputation was abysmal years ago. Right now they are coming off some excellent stuff, Andras, CrashHog /Junk Yard, Simba. If you are holding XTBs past reputation over them you are really only costing yourself much better character designs. To be fair I guess you really mean the mini-bots? Arkose is the best mini-bot I have.

XTB gets a lot of smack that doesn't necessarily reflect the broader opinion of the fans. Somebody pointed out earlier today that Apollyon one last years "3p figure of the year" and people are suggesting that Eligos may be highly ranked this year.

There are people who just talk crap about XTB, but there are obviously even more people who really enjoy their products.

Although they share the same owner, I personally don't speak of KFC products in the same light as XTB. I keep them separate since one is continually improving qc-wise while the other is up and down. KFC has put out consistent quality products recently starting with Doubledeck. Meanwhile the general consensus is that XTB's last solid product was Andras (and the Swarm/basically copies of Andras)...folks were mostly ok that it did not require a v2. It's high time that XTB stepped up their quality on a consistent basis so that their reputation can stand on its own without being lumped with KFC for support.

Does look better than FT's Seaspray attempt, but TBH I was hoping XTB of all companies would nail that rounded, tubby look of the character model (like they did with Cosmos). I feel this is another Seaspray that looks too svelte. But I guess I'd better wait for a proper look at it before making any decisions...

    Oh and another Springer? Really?!

Hard to get excited over a silhouette. "We don't have anything to show but we're thinking about it". Once a gray prototype comes up, I'll get excited over it. YMMV

I'm not saying they don't have issues. I'm saying the complaining about them as a whole is disproportionate to the broader consumer appeal. It doesn't make sense that the "figure of the year" also seems to get the most mud slung at it.
