Heh, I know that's the toy accurate placement, but the OCD part of me is incapable of having it offset like that. (Not that I did a great job centering it on mine) Its funny, because its not like the original toy hood splits apart, so there was no reason for the toy symbol to be off to the side. I guess Wildrider was also like that. I wonder why they did that? Were the stickers applied by hand, and it was easier to apply it in a corner like that instead of trying to center it?

6FDD3EA0-B9C4-414C-B491-F3D0EF437564.jpeg Hey guys. So I just fucked up my Crackup. I was so disappointed with the cream peach color, I decided to take it apart and paint it. I did it for Jabber, so this shouldn’t be hard right? I was dead wrong. Two weeks later, I started putting him back together and was so frustrated with messed up paint, tighter tolerances because of excess paint, and one of the main pieces just snapped clean off. I’m devastated. All this time and work and now I’m out $50 and no Crackup.

Does anyone here have a broken or messed up Crackup that they would want to sell for cheap? I need to replace this guy but don’t want to spend another $50 for it.

So that I could paint all of the cream parts. I definitely regret it.

    Thanks for the sympathy

    Thanks for the idea.

    No problem
I did it for my TE-01 and it didn’t look horrible, but I wasn’t as pleased so I ended up getting a whole replacement figure:oops:

I’m sorry to hear that. I’m probably gonna have to replace this guy too. Just wished X-Transbots came out with an off white one since they are doing so many versions already.

I recently got mp44 anyway but yes I agree

Crackup in a lighter color would look good
I’d double dip on him and get it

Crazy idea, but maybe see if you can pick up the toy version? It apparently has a less peach colour to it. You may even be able to mix and match and use the parts from the toy one to fix up your broken toon one and get the effect you want?
Worse case just replace the toon head onto the toy body and replace any other toy parts with bits from the broken version?

Good idea. But right now, that version is going for $70+. Trust me, I thought about it, but Crackup just isn’t worth spending that much for me. If anything, I’ll contact Ibot to see if I can buy the replacement part that I broke. But as for now, I’m done messing with this guy. I’m too deflated to continue.

It seems your cat doesn't look so deflated!
Anyway, if it's any consolation, the cream colour you applied does look really nice. I will suggest you use some thinner liquid(try to avoid the transparent plastic, tho) and cotton buds. And maybe a metal file to file down the tighter parts. These will help ease up the excess tension. I can imagine it will take a lot of work.. but don't be too discouraged. I am sure you can salvage this situation!

Fwiw the toy version is supposed to be a step up over the cartoon version. I get mine early next week so can confirm/deny that's the fact.

I honestly never had any issues with the cartoon version in regards quality though tbh.

It's a matter of perspective. Check te01 price or FT Jabber, you feel better then.

sorry if i was coming across as savage, but i don't want my fellow collectors to ruin their figures unnecessarily, given the fact that your hard earned money is going towards the purchase

    Hey man,

sorry to hear about it but I do agree that the colour is a bit off. But big hats off for being brave at attempting to pull it apart and to paint it and putting it back!

I've got the toon version of the car bots with Motor Master Pre-ordered. Really like the painted Toy Crack up though! Can the the Toon & Toy heads be swapped? Is the painted Crack up a big step up from the non toon painted version? Cheers
