    @ibot

3 questions on Gravestone for the final production

    1) Will the eyes be painted purple or will it be a clear piece like the pictures are showing? If it will be painted (much preferred option), will it be metallic or gloss? Are the eyes a separate piece that we could remove and paint ourselves if it will be clear?

    2) For the shoulder joints, will there be inner (forward) and outer (backward) movements like FT Roadking (Motormaster) has?

    3) With the higher budget you have available on this figure, can you pls make the build quality and paint application and how well the paint sticks to the figure, and amount of diecast, more in line with how you made XTB Seaspray (the best quality/painted/toleranced/diecast figure from XTB), then that of the other XTB stunticons?

I will be watching this one with great interest. It seems to have all or most of the articulation of FT Roadking that i am needing in this figure. If the quality of build/paint/tolerances are similar to your Seaspray, then I think it will be very awesome toy offering from XTB.

I too would have preferred all transclear-purple plastic inserts everywhere instead of the mix of opaque and transclear-purple.

For some reason, breakdown has always been my favourite of the set. Seeing XTB do an updated toy version made me want to try my hand at an update. I used cream for the thighs and biceps, and metallic blue for the gun, shin and forearms. I like the look of the forearms, but this paint has too much metallic flakes..

Here is an Idea @ibot , make an add on kit with alternate heads in the normal figures Color. So a Yellow Mirage head, Black and Red Windcharger head, Black and Purple Optimus head, A Blue and orange Breakdown head, and Purple and Maroon jazz head for there respective characters from the Masquerade.

looks like the group shot is photoshopped, not just an angle/perspective thing. look at the shadows.
@ibot...please confirm one way or the other or take a new photo. i am fine with the size i think he is at, but it think that one photo is misleading.

Finally got around to getting number 3...

    IMG_6681.jpeg
Really pleased with that alt mode

    Then I transformed him...

    IMG_6682.jpeg

Bot mode looks great too!

BUT... what doesn't look nice is this o_O

    IMG_6683.jpeg

And after reading all the Tales of Terror© on here I was so careful during transformation

I'm still waiting for a reissue of Overheat as I want to avoid the Cracking Shoulders of Doom©

I was just going to say I really like the choice of black blade. It's not only cartoon accurate, but also recalls the blades of more than one fantasy novel villain. Hearing "metallic black w/ silver flake" makes me quite happy!

Speaking of colour, I really really love the purple grill, gas tanks and other accents on Gravestone's vehicle mode.

Just amazing looking! This set is making it very hard for me to decide which mode to display in. Luckily they are not too hard to transform as I suspect I'll change my mind quite a bit...

That looks like a tab and slot to me. I don't think you would be able to fill those in.

I'm not, he's never getting transformed again! :p

I still think I must have been doing something wrong, getting the lower legs unfolded from the thighs was a chore

Now I've just got to do some paint mixing and touch up that scuff...

This may be my favorite looking Motormaster out of the 3. The Cab and Bot mode just look cleaner this way. I can’t wait to finish this set.

My best guess is Dragstrip was fasttracked to allow for making replacement shoulders for all the people waiting on the parts.

I mean, I don't think they've even shown Youth Wildrider yet, so I think they're going with a different release schedule for the toy versions. Or at the very least, skipped him for now because his toy and toon alt modes don't stand out as much with each other than the rest of the cars. Like their toy Dead End has the big racing stripe, their toy Dragstrip has the pinstripes and the different engine piece, and they made their toy Breakdown a totally different color.

Wildrider though, I feel if you played one of those "spot the differences" games and had the toon alt modes on one side, and the toy alt modes on the other, his would be hardest to spot. Like I don't think many people saw Flipout and said, "this isn't the Wildrider of my youth!" Grey Ferrari with red windows, looks right. But he's like the animation model- mostly dark grey except for a red stripe at the bottom. The toy on the other hand would be mostly dark grey, except for the middle of the hood being a lighter grey. So I figure they'd lead with the ones that people would see and notice as being very different from the original releases.

Oh, and people wondering about the purple fuel tanks on Gravestone, I had pointed out that's cartoon/comics accurate, but I later noticed Capone has purple fuel tanks too. So really, its Road King that's off.

I don't like that this image is obviously photoshopped to mislead consumers about the scale between Gravestone and the Carbots...
