Don't pay $125 then, cheaper elsewhere. I'm sure Taobao will be even less than tfs-e.

 

Happy dance! Oh wait, TFX doesn't include shipping so it ends up being another $20-30, right? Oh well, more reserved but still pretty happy dance.

I mean larger XTB figures, (Apollyon, Andras, Eligos, Virtus) are all $120+ and that's from ShowZ where prices are cheaper than others.

Nobody has made more noise about the price than me. Sure, I'd have loved it if the figure plus combiner torso was in line with Zeta's pricing but that was never realistic. Zeta makes their designs and paint schemes much simpler and even they have come out and said that, if they do any more combiners, they'll have to charge more than they did for Superion and Bruticus. When you consider that Motormaster is comparable to TE's Optimus (they both turn into a semi truck with no trailer) the fact that his price is comparable seems perfectly reasonable.

As for it not being a bargain, what combiner aside from Zeta's is less expensive than this will be? $240 for the limb bots + $130 for MM = $370 + whatever the trailer ends up costing. FT's is $105 per limb plus $170 for MM and they've said the last limb will come with the torso and be similarly priced to MM. That'd be about $675 for the set. XTB's trailer would have to cost $300 (and it better fucking not!) to make this set as expensive as FT's. DX9's limbs are $80 and MM is $150 (at ShowZ; haven't checked other stores) = $470 total. If XTB's trailer is $100, that puts them at exactly the same price as DX9. Given that this set is so much better than DX9's (QC issues aside, though I haven't been following DX9's so I don't know how their figures have been turning out), we're still getting more bang for our buck... though honestly I'd bet on the trailer costing the same as MM himself which will likely make this set more expensive.

Now I'm still a little cranky. I still vehemently believe all of this information should've been out there a year ago so we could make informed purchasing decisions. I don't mind the $40 Crackup as a hook but XTB should damn well have been able to tell us what we were getting into before we got to the second figure in the line and definitely before the third figure. And you're right that it's not as much of a bargain as some of us were expecting given how much the first figures cost but, given what we've seen and everything that it does, I think it's a fair price... unless they go nuts on the trailer but I really don't think they will.

 

I actually bought all five of Warbotron, but never combined them before I sold them.

 

£89.99 isn't bad...but then i already have FT and DX9 version of MM (well DX9 is paid for).

I just think the DX9 or FT scale of the cars works better, particularly as my shelf is going to be FT Aerialbots one side, Alpha Trion and Vector Sigma in the middle, and Stunticons on the other. The Aerialbots will dwarf the XTB cars, so i'm thinking combine mode XTB and stick with DX9 for bot mode...have just sold FT Spoiler off and I think Roadking is going next.

Argh.

 

TCP has him up for $130 as well so I guess that's the US price. Curious to see what he ends up being on ShowZ.

Yeah, black is such a weird choice. It should be silver or chrome - I'd prefer chrome but I'm sure I'm outvoted and the chrome one will be with the toy version.

 

Yeah te01 cost £89.99, exactly the same as this, at tfs-e. Similar size cab alt mode, bigger robot. I'm fine with the price. Tbh it's less than I was expecting.

In comparison Sovereign M cost more and looks smaller. Jabber costs the same and is alot smaller. Perspective. It's a wonderful thing.

 

Man, I've got to give XTB their props. They crushed it. This is the best looking of the MM offerings to date, imo. Really hope the December release date is accurate. I've been down on the hobby lately and considering quitting, but I'm really looking forward to this figure.

 

Just put my pre-order in for Gravestone at TFS-Express.

Apart from the trailer in April, this is going to be my last TF purchase before calling it a day on collecting.

What a way to end it, though!

 

I got these guys for bot mode only and right now have FT's standing in. I'm curious to see if RK and this guy are really the same height. If they are, not sure I need to change him out.

 

It would be wild if some unknown 3rd party company just released their own original trailer for Gravestone, something to tide folks over until the real deal from XTB drops.

 

One could also paint an mp-10 trailer as a placeholder...
