What makes you think Motormaster won't have his trailer.....

 

Lmao this thread is getting so long and winding. People were saying they could sell it seperate. I said that was stupid, and elaborated.

 

The FT combiner kibble will be packaged with the final limb, the price of which will be similar to the price of their Motormaster.

The fact that both companies have left the kibble for last is interesting. Does the kibble take a lot longer to design and perfect, or are they each deliberately delaying the release, to prevent their design ‘secrets’ from falling into their rival’s hands?

I’m really excited to see the finished Menasor from both companies (plus DX9) - it’ll be interesting to see how each one has tackled the combiner engineering in their own unique way.

 

@Ryan F Yea, I don't get this whole dragging the feet thing on getting either one of theirs out. you would think the one who got theirs out first would get the larger market share because even if the second set is "better" there are still going to be some to get the first set just to have a complete set on the shelves and then sell off if they think the second set is "better". Also, if the second company uses the first company's ideas the fanbase would knock them for doing so and would consider it a bit of a cheat.
I'm sure there will be some who disagree with my opinion, I'm used to it, lol.

My guess is it has more to do with the cost...save it for the end and people are already pot committed. They can bitch and moan about it then, but who's not going to buy it, whatever it costs at that point?

I think it more has to do with when they can afford to buy the factory time.

Factory time is expensive, and based on what I've seen and read, the part count and complexity of a figure increases the time it takes to manufacture it. Depending on any number of factors, it may well be economically necessary to sell your limb bots quick, gather the cash and use the proceeds from the first four limbs to get the leader and the accessories squared away in one last go. Sticking in hands/feet/whatevers in with the limbs likely just slows things down.

Given that the individual price points on the limbs seems to be dropping a little (save for FT's bots who are just way bigger/complex than other MP combiners), there may be some credence to the idea that the lack of inclusion of limb bits is simply to sell limb units to shore up production for the torso guy. The fact that you become "invested" in the team for which you buy limbs is probably more of a secondary benefit, insofar as it's likely easier to turf cheapie limbs on the aftermarket if you change your mind.

I think I've got a 2nd run, because I had zero issues with tightness or clearances. Plus, it looks like the engine is painted differently


If I'm wrong, I'm sure someone will point it out! I would just add that the eBay listing described it as the Alloy Version, so not sure whether they've changed the paint there so you can tell the difference between the first and second runs?

Might all be in my head...

Edit: FYI, there was also no replacement face for Skids, which I believe there was in the original run? At least according to BSFs review video anyway!

 

I know they're going for toon accuracy but the slippers look is one tweak I'd like to see some liberties taken in the design department.

 

So did we ever get any XTB Gravestone/Motormaster updates yet? I would love to know if that bot is gonna be out before years end... or not.

 

don't think there has been a second run yet   mine was all good when i transformed mine the day i got it and then the cracks just appeared out of nowhere just sitting on the shelf

Actually, I thought the replacement pieces were becoming available because there was a fresh run being done, that's why I thought about it in the first place. Could be wrong, obviously. Time will tell!

I guess if they are doing a second run of Skids like they are then Overheat probably won't have the extra face anymore...if you get everything at the right time and don't need the extra face, otherwise you might have to beg one off of someone, lol.

 

I think we'll see the set completed by next year. With only 2 months left of 2019 i highly doubt they'll reveal and have GraveMaster/MotorStone ready by the end of the year. I believe there's a Toy convention in Asia in December so fingers crossed XTB shows MM finally.

 

So was tfcon the update we were waiting on? I thought the update was gonna specifically be gravestone for some reason. Was that just wishful thinking on my part?
