Does 3P normally show up at NJCC? The only shows outside of China I know for sure have them are the TFCons and TFNation. (I'm not counting random shows stores like TCP or Toy Dojo do and have their stock shown, I mean news for upcoming figures).

EDIT: Speaking of TFNation that was this weekend, was there anything? If there was I missed it.

Plastic degrading? This is news to me.

 

UV light, ozone, oxigen, high temperatures, etc degrade plastic.

 

Well, it's compromised in my opinion. If something sits for weeks or months at a time with no manipulation and developes cracks, I call that a degradation issue.

 

Honestly I wouldn't be too optimistic. Xtb is usually pretty good about this kind of thing but if they have to replace large parts of everybody's figure, they may just decide the minor scandal is cheaper than fixing it. I'm curious how widespread this is, though. So far there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with my shoulders.

 

It is hard to tell. The figure that stands out in my mind where issues kicked in even sitting on the shelf untouched is Cubex Huff (paint flaking). Some lasted a few years before it really started while others were like that immediately.

Since we don't know if it is all of them or not it may be worth comparing what might be different even jut sitting on the shelf. What temperatures does everyone keep the room with their collections at? Among the factors I can think of that seems like the one most open control by people, though that could be completely wrong, however things like the atmosphere or air quality are harder to measure let alone control. Are the ones cracking in warmer or colder rooms than the ones are fine? Temperature can easily affect plastic integrity depending on the plastic.

 

NJCC? What’s that?

 

Mine are in a closed cabinet, away from sunlight, AC running at 70 degrees. Received from Toy Dojo early June. Transformed 2 times. Cracked sitting on shelf after not being touched for 3 weeks. Visually inspected 2 weeks prior to that with no cracks.

 

Nope. Tfnation is piss poor in that respect. Been 3 years since the last 3p panel and/or decent prototypes iirc.

 

Man, talk about climate change impacting our hobby.
