Prolly whenever the next cons are, as that's when the previous two came out.
While I love being insulted by an internet stranger for where I live (thanks), it WAS common knowledge that the price point was only that low due to the mold being immediately stolen/KOed and they wanted to nip it in the bud. To say anything different means you either weren't paying attention or you are being disingenuous.
These guys are masterpiece scaled, masterpiece quality and cost less than masterpiece pricing.
You can safely stop buying anything at any time; you don't owe any company anything. There's no need to cry about it.
Ahh. I have no answer other than maybe to recoup the lost money on the initial release? Or maybe the costs of making a quality product required more investment than thought. They're still quite reasonable, but I also say that as I was originally in on the DX9 Stunticons so, of course they're going to look better price wise for me. I ended up liking the scale and the look of the XTB versions better so I switched.
But I fully understand and see how nearly doubling in price would raise an eyebrow and frustrate or annoy some people.
I may have to hit up XTB to see if I can get extra guns for all the other limbs. I don't like the idea of only one limb bot being able to dual wield while the others can't.
Thanks. I See there are two different versions of Flipout on. BBTS
I recall the discussion about pricing came up (again) around the time Flipout was either released or listed for order. Someone had a (official) quote from this thread or another that said the "limbs would all be the same price" or something along those lines. I can't find it now, but I remember this being posted.
you know what, i am not happy with the price increase, but if they are as great as the other two i still think it is worth it
Hm. Well I don't want to throw out numbers because some members here seem to think that doing so gives the 3p permission to use that price even if they were considering a lower one. Let me just say that Zeta's Silverbolt was better than reasonably priced for what you got and we'll be getting more with XTB MM - a trailer for the truck and a full body for Menasor. And I'll further say that if it's anywhere near the price of KFC's Powermaster Op + the trailer (not including God Bomber, just the first trailer), it will be an unreasonable price.
I remember that everybody was parroting that but I don't remember ever seeing it from an official source. We had two separate data points - the low price for Crackup and the upcoming KO of Crackup (that turned out to be Sideswipe instead) and everybody jumped to the conclusion that the KO was responsible for the low price, but unless I'm remembering incorrectly, Keith never confirmed that. And I don't remember there being a consensus on how the limbs would be priced after Crackup. Plenty of us assumed they would all be the same, which was why it was so surprising. When Flipout was $60, we were like, "Well that makes sense," but up until then, it seemed to be a pretty common opinion and pretty commonly spoken that all the limbs would be the same price.
The first post of the Crackup thread has a quote from a UK retailer. They were specifically told that the price for all the limbs would be the same i.e. low price. Heck, Gravestone's supposed to be cheap as well. ibot could have denied that but he never did.
Bad math and bad memory makes quite an awesome combination.
What about the sword? Is MM gonna come with a sword for Menasor too or just one for both?
I wanted to try and match/scale this with MP-44 (or as in MY preference, TE-01), because, let's face it…
The majority of us are actively seeking a replacement for our MP-10 within our MP collection.
I started with the shot of Gravestone and MP-10 holding hands, then pieced together multiple shots of bots until a lined them
up as close as possible.
YES, this may be a tad off, as I've yet to own either (only own MP-10), but it's [email protected] close.
It's clear that Gravestone was designed to pair with MP-10.
And it's almost not fair that the MP game switched on XTB before they even had a chance to get this out.
Gravestone's build, the taller mid-section, the thighs… ALL of which are MP-10ish.
And from what we've seen, FT's MM definitely benefitted from designing him after MP-44 renders were released (or possibly just they're normal Toon Accuracy came into play).
That said, I am still ALL IN for Gravestone, and do think, once final color renders on this bad boy are available, he'll still look quite stunning.
Who knows, maybe it's not too late for Keith to make a few minor last minute changes (shorten the cod-piece, not taper the thighs, etc…), but even if not, I can't wait to see more, and to get him in hand!
Besides, in all likelihood, Gravestone will spend less than a month with his team before Merging For The Kill… and there he will stay!
I see that the prices are continuing to creep up with the limbs. BBTS just listed the last two at $69.99
"Transbridge Omegalock Yes, we have confirmed with XTB the limbs price will be the same for all of the early birds, the torso's price not get finally confirmed yet, but it will also be incredible cheap.quoq"
I remember now this was reposted in the Flipout thread. So not completely "official" but pretty close.
Not personally complaining about the price as average $60 per limb is still a steal, but that sucks that the price has creeped over time.
Well that's a pretty bad mistake, maybe l should email them and say hey you said it would cost this much so what happened
I did not conflate the two. I compared carbots with carbots and jetbot with jetbots.
The inconvenient problem for someone who wants to make Stunticons oversized in botmode is that there's already an established carbot size thanks to existing Autobot carbots.
And before someone asks, mass shifting has nothing to do with this. Mass shifting is an animation cheat used to fix a transformation issue where the realworld alt mode needs to be substantially smaller/larger in the cartoon, such as Megatron gun or Soundwave boombox to fit into another bot's hands, or for the interior of a shuttletrain to hold a bunch of other bots. Even your Bruticus reference is about altmode size not botmode. If anything, Bruticus further supports my point, in that, despite very different alt modes the bots are similar sized. It makes for a cohesive team and a more appropriate presentation.
very interesting, so the last 2 members are 10$ higher to make the first member really 60$ instead of 40$...and thus 60$ per limb accross the board. Very effective strategy indeed. I mean, what are fans gonna do about it, say no after coming on board with two members already? Nope.
Well, except me that is, I am still "free" not to buy the rest if i want to, lol .
I find the lower leg particularly pleasing aesthetically... does that make me weird?
We'll have to wait and see.
And our counter strategy is to buy it from Chinese sellers at below NA retail and discounted further with an Ebay flash sale coupon.
We'll have to wait and see.
I don't know. Do you have the strength of the bear, eyes of the hawk, ears of the wolf, and/or speed of the puma?
[Edit] did that from memory but then decided to look it up. Got it out of order: it's hawk, wolf, bear, puma.
Separate names with a comma.
