Still loving mine. I have transformed it at least seven times from trailer to combined mode, no issues. I really enjoy the transformation now that I know how to do it properly, only takes about 20 mins for the whole set now

Man that Digi face is the shit !!
I'd buy that figure just for that awesome face sculpt !!
Even that charcoal is so much nicer than the gun metal of the official.

What went wrong from the early renders.. to official figure :/

Looks nice, I still need to order the shoulder pieces. Also, the inside of menasor’s back is a good place to store the parts you take off for the back plate.

I finally got around to fiddling with @jimmyh ’s shoulder upgrade kit. Still need to buckle them down properly but overall I’m very pleased. Like it better than I was expecting.

I had them tighter initially but then I broke one removing it. So I had to make the tabs smaller. I also thought about attaching them to the screw holes on the back. But then I thought someone eventually will grab those and lift monolith by them and that could be a disaster.

@jimmyh I really like what you are doing with the shells and I'm curious is it possible to give the wheels a lower profile without risking strength as they are the mounting points? I would think its possible because it's a lightweight shell rather a full bot, but I have zero experience with 3D printing and how much you could get away with. I'd love to machine them from aluminum since I know it could then be slimmed down a lot and once fully milled out as light as plastic but 10 times stronger. It would take forever to machine though.

they are connecting to the screw pegs on the legs and some large tabs on the shells. So they need to be substantial.

regardless, I wanted them big as I am looking to match the kind of goofy proportions of the cartoon model, wherein the wheels are rather large.

Sounds good! I figured this idea would be good but only having to make the wheel/mounts because I saw 1:32 slot cars which have a shell of a body and there are some in the model Ferrari and the Tyrrell P34 with the Lamborghini Countach and Porsche 928 proving to be a little harder to find but I had found them in model kits. I passed on them back then and wishing I didn't because the Lambo and Porsche are not available again.

Am I the only one who wants Toyhax to make more Toy accurate stickers?

They did stickers for Constructer, Bruticon and Superitron. I am sure they will do sets for Monolith and Youth Monolith. I did some accents for Monolith. I was going to do some for Youth Monolith, but I decided not to get him. For now anyway.

I am kind of done with Toyhax myself. The quality of their decals has gone way down. Most of the time it looks like they were printed on a consumer inkjet printer. Hell, I can make decals like that.

They don't seem to be lasting that well. Some of the recent stickers I bought are peeling up at the corners already. I have 1980s originals with stickers in better condition!

Toyhax have produced some excellent sets in the past. They make MT Downbeat look glorious.

I don't think I have had that problem. Though I don't exactly inspect all my figures after I apply them.

My biggest issue is the print quality. I don't feel I should see graininess and banding lines in professionally produced graphics. I am just a hack in a basement and I can avoid those.
