I had it on its original first release. Really bummed about it as you can imagine! I purchased from tfs-express but a while has passed.

Yep the slots to fit the car are there on the toon versions chest as well, so it fits the same:

Yeah I'd really like to have them that way on the Youth version as well. Tomorrow I might try to remove the faux wheels and see if they can be repositioned so the cars can be attached that way. Unless someone's already tried it and knows it wouldn't work?

I’d love to be able to get just that chest car for my toon Menasor.

Thanks so much for the photos! I really wish there was a way to have the car-tops face forward. :(

Great pics, especially the one with G1 Menasor. Toy nostalgia has succeeded here, excited to get this thing now!

Can somebody here give me a runthrough of any QC issues I should be on the lookout for? I've already picked up g1 toy versions of breakdown, dragstrip, and wildrider and I'm considering going all in. So far, I've got some cracks on dragstrip's shoulder but no breakage yet. Are there any problems with the toy dead end and motormaster/trailer?

    Thanks in advance

Apologies for no photos, they are all packed away at the moment but from my understanding (and in one case personal experience) the issues I am aware of are:

Dragstrip/Overheat - Those cracks in the shoulders you mentioned? Happened to my toy version and multiple reported instances for both toy and toon versions. Those cracks quickly becoming deeper and then the whole part, which is what holds the whole arm on, will crumble like a dry stilton. Doesn't taste as good though.
Might as well either reach out to X-transbots customer service or the company you purchased from and request a replacement (or 2) and/or look at some of the 3D printed files on offer from this boards fine members. This appears to be caused by the wheels pressing too much against the shoulders during transformation as well as poor plastic and possibly overtightened screws. Worth filing down both the shoulders where the wheels rotate and press against them before installing the new pieces.

Also reports of the front spoiler/bonnet snapping off during transformation, and again worth filing down the rub point to reduce stress.

    Breakdown/Crack up

    None I am aware of

    Wildrider/Flipout

Reports of the feet shearing off during transformation - mine both seem fine so far though.

    Deadend/Deathwish

Overly tight connection at the waist where it comes in two for gestalt mode causing too much force to be necessary to separate. Fixable by loosening screws around affected area or a drop or two of silkcon oil. Anecdotal only though, both of mine have been fine though.

    Motormaster/Gravestone

Thin ab-crunch/transformation joint at waist is thin and breakage has been reported. Support carefully, avoid excess stress.

    Menasor Trailer

B*****d to transform with many thin panels and tight clearances (end result is totally worth it though).

Concerns over knee joints relying on a thin connection and one screw to hold them together. Support near the joint when posing to reduce torque.

Large thin transformation joint at the waist equires careful support above and below joint when moving or transforming.

Thats all I can think of right now, but I imagine that other board members more knowledgeable than I will point out any more.

Despite the above, I love the look of this set. It is a shame about the QC and design choice issues but if you are willing to accept them and commit to a few modifications/spare parts for Dragstrip, I do believe that they look fantastic in all three modes.

Got my Youth trailer from TF-Direct…

Their ‘packaging’ was just a clear plastic bag over the box, held together with a bit of sticky tape.

Suffice it to say, lacking any protection whatsoever, the box got a bit damaged in transit.

The toy itself is (surprisingly) intact, except for one of the side runners, which is a warped mess of stressed plastic.

I’ve had no prior issues with TF-Direct, so this is astonishingly shoddy from them. God knows how I’m going to get this sorted, because tracked postage from the U.K. back to China will be super expensive…

What a hot mess. I've slowly been seeing an increasing amount of issues like this out of TFD. Hope they'll do you right on this one.

WTH. No foam sheet or even bubble wrap? I mean, it's poor handling by shipper but they should protect it better than that.

That is disgraceful. Sorry to hear you’ve experienced that.

Does make you wonder what goes through the brains of the seller sending something in that way where they think leaving it to luck it will arrive without damage. Inviting aggro when all they had to do was take a little longer properly packaging it for the journey.

I’d be livid. Get them to send another properly protected.

I recall Amazon US sending X-spanse in a Jiffy bag which started its journey from West coast US to the East coast and then on to the UK. Funnily enough, that arrived trashed at my home.

I will never do business with TF-Direct again. One time I purchased an in stock item from them and they had the galls to ask for additional money. When I asked for a refund, they were silent for the longest time so I opened a case with Paypal.

They did the same thing to me, and it was a significant amount of money. Had some shipping issues that didn't go well, either. I had about 6 or so preorders with them that I've cancelled and I, too, will no longer do business with them and have told them such.

My package from TF direct never arrived (tracking still showing at LAX since Jan 2020).

They refused to help in any way, and I was told that I would have to absorb the loss.

They can absorb my fist. You don't treat customers this way.

Guys, not sure if you knew this already, the first rule of buying from Chinese stores or any store really is to use Paypal. That way you are covered by Paypal's Buyer Protection Program which supersedes policies set by stores. A store can say something like "you'll get store credit for bla bla bla". You don't have to accept it, you can just ask Paypal to intercede on your behalf and you'll get your money back.

I've done this for stores in the US (USAGundamStore is an example) and a couple of Chinese stores overseas.

I've only used Paypal and I will continue to do so. Thanks for this tip though, I didn't know this.
