hadn't seen that posted here before, maybe i missed it but this was a first time i'd seen it posted here on a youth version. also in that video...that break looks different from what we normally see? i'm a little bit doubting what i'm seeing there as that guy had another broken part as well and seems to go out of his way to show how bad the rest of it is. theres quite some effort there to make the lower half seem bad too, or he is just ham handed? don't know. that being said that puts the count up to 2. i don't watch this thread as religiously as i did years ago but i check in at least a couple times a week and read back...so i don't know how well or poorly the youth version sold but if he sold even 1/10th of the normal version and was just as bad we'd have seen more breaks reported here by now. i'm going to assume it was a bit better but not completely. i think assigning the cause of the low level of reports here to JUST lower sales might be off. that said, my original toon one is still without breaks at the moment and my youth version is still ok too. i'll see if my backup (well i was gonna use it as a limb instead of alt or bot) copy i just ordered is ok or not.

I picked up the Overheat and Crackup on the TFsource sale as and sadly Overheats engine snapped off with just a little bit of effort trying to get it to slide into place. Luckily that can be tucked out the way if I can't get a replacement piece.

I got my youth Dragstrip about a year and a half ago and both shoulders have cracked in the same spot pictured above.
So it is not just related to the TFS current stock.

 

Same thing happened to mine. Just came in last night, opened it this morning and.....



Emailed TFSource already. Hope they come through.

those are some seriously disappointing pictures. yea, XTB can send you out some new parts and all that but it is still something that shouldn't have to happen in the first place. utter and complete bullshit.

Was there a new run of Youth Dragstrip or do we know if this is old stock? I always thought it was generally meant to be much improved compared to the toon version. Mine was purchased last year and has no cracks. It seems to be a much sturdier cheese compared to my toon figure which has crumbled in multiple places.

 

My 1st youth copy is solid. Now I'm thinking I need to go ahead and ship my stack so I can check the second.

 

I doubt it's about new vs old production considering the first run of the regular toon version had the issue and now the most recent batch of the youth version appears to as well. More likely it's about a factory that has a weak materials mix, particularly when yellow is part of it(?), and the engineering is such that it doesn't account for that, so certain parts due to tension or shape or lack of sufficient mass, end up like this. Change the material composition or the engineering of the joint and it's very likely the issue wouldn't exist. I don't know of any reported breaks of the G2 version, which is black material on those same parts, so perhaps the materials issue is related to whatever compound results in yellow plastic but not other colors.

Then again, we've seen plenty of breakages of various parts across this entire set, from the ankles/feet of one figure (wildrider I think) to the waist of one of the recent youth version releases, to the rear window panels of another one iirc, and there's the sketchy waist hinge joint on gravestone that many expect to fail just due to its design but I think only one or two reported theirs actually did break. This is how XTB maintains its reputation of not being a top tier 3P. Sure, beautiful renders but the actual product is too often fragile and they don't seem to know how to fix it.
