Just received an e-mail from TCP that this would be available within two days, so it sounds like theirs will finally be shipping soon!
Oh God. Now I have to really decide if I want the accessory pack just for the cartoon Menasor faces. I'm sure they'll be available for awhile, but this makes it more real.
Agreed! Anyone selling just say certain accessories - like just the combiner faces or alt mode guns?
Yeah it will be interesting to see what Fanstoys come up with.
As for DX9 they scored highly on the solidness of their combined mode and it appears very stable and i liked the fact that they have a lot of ratchet joints. I am still scratching my head on why XTB could not achieve the same thing DX9 were able to.
XTB has a better looking combined mode but the truck mode with Dx9 and the trailer is somewhat unsightly to look at due to the length and all the visable joints on the outside of the their trailer. XTB scores higher on the trailer due to the cleanliness IMO. Whether people agree with me or not is another matter
I have that accessory pack pre-ordered and will come w/ the trailer from TCP. I only care about the arm shells and laser beam thingies. I have absolutely no interest in the extra faces, except the Menasor g1 faces, but not the other ones. Don't care about the radio controller thing either really. I mainly want the shells and laser beams.
I want my XTB to battle the Fanstoys. Then he goes up for sale.
I couldn't agree more.
Both aren't perfect, they have their pros and cons.
I asked this before but didn't get a response, and with the trailer imminent at TCP, I'll try again: For anyone with Dead Ends that don't separate well, if at all, at the waist, is there any fix or recommendation for splitting the halves for arm mode (beyond just ripping and pulling real hard)?
I thought that was TFC Herc and MT Giant. FP did help nudge things along with their Blast Off & Swindle and all the bits that improved Energon Bruticus.
Loosen the screw at his waist if anything. I tried shaving down the peg a little but I still end up just loosening the screw to make sure it comes apart without snapping that peg or armature.
Well with this, I think am done with XTB.
I’m a sucker for punishment and going back in for combined Defensor. Hopefully they’ll learn what to do and avoid for the second combiner.
Yeah, after seeing all of this, I think i'm officially mixed on getting the set. So I guess it's time to ask for a bevy of second opinions. As someone who's getting 2 sets of Fans Toys' Stunticons (bot mode and then alt/combined mode), should I go yay or nay for my bevy of reissue bots and my not yet bought trailer & accessory pack?
I live to Xuffer!!!
I love my XTB set. To date still have had no QC issues of note. Yes the trailer transformation is difficult but not impossible or even all that frustrating. I simply love how Monolith looks too. Sure he’s definitely more of a shelf piece to look at than play with but that’s how I feel about almost all of my Fans Toys figures too.
LOL. They're not going to learn anything and their quality is getting worse. You should go read the Locke (Kup) thread. That thing is a mess.
I think Locke's issues might be in part due to that being an older design finally seeing the light of day. XTB's 2018-2019 slate (or thereabouts. Hard to keep track of the dates) were all really good, with a bunch of solid, really easy-to-handle releases like Cliffjumper/Hubcap, Cosmos, Skids.
And even the individual Stunticons were really good, from an overall design standpoint. Couple of iffy plastic choices have put a minor dent in their overall lustre.
Just for the record, Einstein probably never said that because he was a mathematician, not a psychologist.
Correct, it was Vaas.
